I've not heard from any one if they wish to meet up for coffee .. debrief and hand over of hostage / stow away / runaway jeepstar Plums & Roses & Black Opal R in Melbourne this weekend ... but it can wait till May 2nd our next official "organised" cruise to Serendip wild life park.

Serendip Sanctuary is located at 100 Windermere Road in Lara, off the Princes Highway, 60 km from Melbourne. It is signposted from the major roads in the vicinity (Melways ref: 423 D2).

any one from that side of the state could meet us at the princess hwy turn off OR at the main gate of the park ...

I'll be AWOL from emails till late saturday ... but contactable on Mobile or via forum ... keep an eye out on weather forcast & dress accordingly & we can still go for a wonder through the park .. WE are from VIC the south, we can cruise in all types of weather BUT if it is TOO wet for out door dining we may find refuge ..

Awoke to the gentle sounds of rain, usually most welcome but not today. We splashed our way to Geelong to meet LVMYPT at Harvey Norman's and then set off to Serendip with our convoy of two. Plums and Roses, Brentn, PT2400 and the Black Panther came up from Melbourne.
With the skies looking grey and heavy we ventured into the wilds of Serendip. Parks Victoria have certainly done a wonderful job with this park. The frog exhibit rates a really special mention as Gail and Graeme's daughter was responsilble for its design. The display centre gave everyone an in sight into the land of the Western Plains before farming took over.
Once out on the track the wildlife greeted us Kangaroos and Emus as well as an abundance of water birds. Cape Barron geese and also magpie geese have flown in along with all manner of ducks no doubt retreating from the hunting season.
Once the trek around the park was finished we returned to the picnic area for lunch, with our local Geelong fans heading off to watch Geelong thrash Richmond.
Brenton and Frank both produced BBQ's, Brenton's set up is particularly note worthy, he towed a small trailer which contained all his picnic needs including an amazing umbrella which could be set up in the trailer. A really clever idea.
The weather cleared to a cool but sunny day so as with most PT cruises everyone sat around chatting about cars and things. Brenton showed some articles about his other projects a 49 Ford and caravan to match.
We headed home happy with the outing and very dirty car to clean.

.... we woke up to sunshine had a sprinkle of light rain as we approched the avalon turn off, .. with no rain there after Plums & Roses was in fine form with Phantom at the wheel & Black opal resting after a LATE saturday night cruise home .. the rest of the day DITTO as reported by Magpie !! I could not write it as well THANKYOU .. I saw a number of cameras so I am sure we will get some pics .... I'd like to thank every one for coming & those that let me know their inabilites & short notice cancellations (hope those that had the lergies are getting better inc Apple's feline!!) .. makes the cruise controlling a lot easier & less stressful ... signing off ... the dotty the hot dog cooker .... U had to be there !!
