Welcome Mel and Linz
You'll find the bunch on the forum lots of fun and always willing to give some good advice. I was a newbie back in April and now feel very much a piece of the furniture. I missed the "grunt" a little at first going from a 5 speed Camry Sportivo to the PT and travelling up the Toowoomba range every morning. But now I realise all the stares and thumbs ups I get from people are worth it. I still get a big smile on my dial everytime I look at Jelly Bean.
BTW I think Spessial Ed is a great name.

In regard to the wiper/indicator thing - I was goingright at a very busy roundabout last Thursday night and my indicator clicked off as I was turning and I hit the wipers instead. This stoopid woman in a Volvo hurled as much abuse as me as she possibly could and then tailgated me for the next two blocks. How ruuuuuude!

Not the Volvo!

Jacqui if ever you get hassled like that do what I did once with a trucky that was trying to run me out of his way and that was I got my camera or you can use your mobile phone, wound down the window and took a photo of his truck through my drivers door mirror and took a pic then held the camera/phone up in the air. Got an immediate reaction, infact he pulled that far back i could barely see him.

I must see if i can find that photo, it wasnt a bad shot. Number plates and all.

Hi Linz & Mell
Welcome to this forum and congratulations on the new purchase. I'm sure despite the speed issue you'll enjoy what you have ...and I must say the lifestyle that seems to come along with it! There will be many happy years of cruising ahead of you in comfort, style and with the reliability.
I'll keep an eye out for you as I'm going throught that area nearly daily for work. So if you see an odd looking person flashing at you... that is with the headlights of course in a car that isnt a PT it may be me.

And don't worry he's not really stalking you hey Ray LOL.

We've caught this dreadful illness "PT Spotting".......it's been a touch and go couple of days - we've both been seeing PT's everywhere - wondering if anyone actually parks theirs at a shopping centre or railway carpark......

I do my best never to park in shopping centre's too many people who don't care! see it all the time people hitting other cars with door and not a care in the world!! Not to mention the runaway trolleys

I usually park in the street and just walk as far as i have too.

Better than having to get dings taken out,

And as for the railways have not been on a train in 20 odd years and never would NSW

Sadly, mine is parked in a public car park all day while I'm at work and believe me I have the door dings to show for it. Street parking is harder to get in Twba (have to be at work by 7am to get a street park) and can work out more expensive (and dangerous). As much as I love Jelly Bean I have to remember she is my daily driver above all so she gets parked anywhere and everywhere. I take my elderley Mum out a lot and she relies on me for shopping etc so we have to park close to everything. Fortunately, she now has a disabled parking sticker which means we can park in WIDER car parking spaces.

We started spotting PTs when we first got Jelly Bean and that is how we met the fantastic group of friends we now have in Toowoomba. We would just put the details of what colour, where and when we spotted these cars and people would respond on here saying "Thats me". Eventually, I put a message up for anyone interested to meet us for brekky one day and we've been almost inseparable since then
We left a few notes and cards on PTs we've seen in the street but none of them have ever contacted us.

Spotted a fellow at Bunnings, the other day, that had parked on the line...to get the 'cushion of protection' for his shiny red SS commode......

and Dont go too hard on the Railways...IM a Train Guard myself..NOT a Transit Officer..I just open and close the doors and make announcements on the train

Never park in parking lots or under shopping centres unless I'm in a city and desperate.

Would rather walk a klm than have someone ding a door. Been there and done that and had a lady, an older one who couldn't give 2 hoots actually did it twice opening and shutting her door. When I approached her she said it's only a car.

Can't repeat what my thoughts were of this older lady but under my breath I called her everything I could think of. Maybe lucky she didn't have her hearing aid in as a couple of words did escape the lips.
Never parked in a parking lot since.

Haven't been on a train for 20 years until 31st Oct this year when we went to Sydney to pick up our Plum PT. Found out I still can't sleep on a train although I will admit the ride wasn't as rough as it used to be. Must have been because I used to work as a track maintenance supervisor many many years ago and I fixed up all the rough bits.
