PTCDU Members came from everywhere ... Gold Coast/North Coast/Brisbane/Toowoomba/Tweed Heads/the mob who stayed over after the Esk Multicultural Festival and even Big Dazza from Grafton - in all 17 x PT Cruisers(including visitor Redback) , 2 x 300Cs and 1 x Avenger.
The Esk mob again had to contend with fog , but it was pretty spectacular with the sun rising over Wivenhoe dam - and the road looked like it had been raining it was so wet!
All the PTs gathered at the truckstop 3.5 KMS from the entrance to Willowbank Raceway so we could arrive at the gates in convoy and be able to park together inside.
Bub was working for Leo Mullers on the day and secured an area for us to park with much more room for us to park than last year.
Once settled , we had about an hour and a half to have a look around at cars and some qualifying time trials for the drag racing before returning to base for the PTCDU (QLD) 6th Birthday Cake cutting and morning tea.
Merrilyn (C-Breeze)had been selling raffle tickets for 2 days and the drawing took place following the morning tea - the prizes included 4 x $50-00 gift vouchers that had been generously donated by Loxy from Bleam Chrysler Chrome along with a pile of other goodies making up a total of 7 prize draws -- and the winners were : - Zane (Phantom) - Jacqui (Jelly Bean) - Loxy (Battle Cruiser..redonated) - Kevin (Dark and Stormy - won 2 x prizes donated one back) - Mark (Dreddman) - Dennis (Auzziecruza) and one yet to be claimed prize ..ticket green F 31.
The rest of the day (until the trophy presentations at around 3-00) was taken up with browsing the Chryslers on display/having lunch and watching the drags (those who hadn't been to the drags before were amazed by the sights and sounds)
Jelly Bean (Jacqui and Graeme) were "visitors" on the day , as they came down from Toowoomba in the Valiant but made sure they dropped in on the PTs for a chat - thanks for your support at the Esk Multicultural Street Parade , your PT was another of the fine examples on display!
We had a gentleman named Paul Denman drop in looking for the PT owner who left their spare MAG wheel(not space saver) at Chrysler Expo last year - I have his phone number if the owner would like to email/PM me - some lady contacted him about it but he doesn't have any details. (I will do a separate post on this later)
Crafty (Blue Heeler) left his mobile phone at the motel at Esk and left a little early to get it and C.C. Scottie hitched a ride back as well with Dreddman to tidy up Busker and drive the ute back to Brisbane on Monday.
It seems everyone had a great time at both the events they attended and had a safe drive home ..
Thanks go out to all those who helped out over the weekend and to Vicki (Bub) for her organisation for the parking and advice on the specials from Mullers.
You are all a great crew and a pleasure to spend our outings and events with -- looking forward to catching up again at Coomera on the 9th August!
Could anyone who has pics of the Double Header Events of this weekend , please either post them up or send to me and we should be able to get them into the magazine and the Year Book.
Cheers Scottie
