Mystery car 1967 photo Chris PT Marine 1 Year, 10 Months ago
This has appeared on another forum
The car in question is behind the "S" series Valiant and beside the Mini
Up in the crowd in the background
A few sugestions are.....

Sunbeam Tiger - No only one in Australia it was a race car
a Sprite or even a Alpine but grille looks wrong
Honda S600 ruled out as too stubby
also sudgested something Bill Buckle could have done

But I think they maybe someone on here who may of seen one or possibly owned one similar to this "IF" it is an MG Could the roof be one of those fiberglass ones the can be put on and remopved similar to a Hardtop?? If so I have seen a roof like this in storage.

No one could actually guess what it is soooo Chris PT Marine do you know what it is??????

My first thought was Triumph Herald then once I enlarged the pic the rear quarters look finned. Not sure even if Vauxall Viva looking!

My guess - Honda S600 coupe.

It's the right size - compare to the Mini. I saw a lot of the roadsters in Okinawa during the Vietnam War - cute as buttons....

I have been pondering this for a couple of days..Honda S600 gets my vote as well for the same reasons as Don..I have actually done a few miles in one of them when I was a lad,a while ago now.

OK as with most forums its taken a few days for someone to confirm or denigh what it is
So I will post some pics of what people have said stating with

Honda S600

Sunbeam Rapier

The roof

Austin Healey sprite

Sunbeam rapier

With the majority of experts confirming that it is indeed a SPRITE

The roofline is all wrong - cannot be a Sprite.

Looser. That will teach you for starting something...lol

Stangely the other day when I was doing my daily "Mad Mile" (87ks to W'gong) to home I thought of what it was. Now I've completely forgotten it now.
I was thinking of the many "Corgi Cars" I use to have and should've kept and I'm almost certain I had one.
Certainly the roof line and grille dont match what you have there Col....keep working on it mate, we'll find it eventually.

Hey I'm just trying to see if anyone here knows
I said at the start I don't know what it is especially these type of cars
I won't tell you what I call them
This has caused as much drama on another sight
No one can agree on what it is there either lol
