feeling like crap 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Yesterday there was an accident on the Warrego where a 4WD flipped and rolled 4 times along the road and then tumbled over the guard rail and rolled down an embankment about 20 feet to rest upside down agains some trees preventing it rolling a further 20 feet to the bottom. the road was closed as personal belongins and glass littered about 100M of both lanes.
the 5 passengers 3 kids around the 10yo mark and mother and grandmother were all taken to hospital all were concious at the scene but the grandmum had to be removed from the vehicle.
the fire ambulance and police were quickly on the scene and whisked the injured away and the cleanup was started no more than 20 mins after teh initial accident.
apparently the driver of the 4WD was driving on the left hand side of a truck when the car veered into the back of the truck causing the driver to swerve sharply and loose control.
the truck driver kept control of his vehicle and stopped to call 000 and lend assitance.
that truck driver was... Me.
i will have this image in my left hand side mirror for eternity of a burgandy ball spewing paper glass and items as it rolled along the highway.

its not a nice thing i havent heard of the extent of the passengers injuries.

not a subject that i would like realy to post but i need to let it out.

hint* never NEVER travel alongside a truck make a decision either make a passing manouver or sit back. we may be big, we may be slow, but these things get twitchy and can come close to getting in your face very quickly. if you arent beside us there will be no issue.

these are just thoughts from the fractured mind of a crazed chicken delivering driver, that is a little more wiser, and greyer for the experience.
cheers

Sorry to hear it was your truck Stout-n-bitter.
We all sincerely hope that you can somehow try not to remember it toooo much or it may get the better of you.
Mate I was in a Rescue squad out west of where I live now for 13 1/2 yrs and what I saw, attented to and had to clean up affected me for a long time after I got out of the squad unit. I hope that helps your mind a little.

And never be afraid to ask for help. I've been there after all I've seen and also after an armed hold up. Mate you aren't alone here on this forum. Plenty of friends to talk to if you need to.

Hey buddy, sorry to hear of that. Even a big fella like you would need a hug after that! Guess at some stage being employeed on the road for an income you would have to see something aweful at one stage. Always my fear! Only seen incomparison to yours minor ones at this point. Being involved in it would have to be horrific inparticular in your size.
Take it easy mate "never haggle with a chook i guess"

Stoutie I hope you're okay; as others have said, if talking here helps you deal with it, I'm sure there are plenty of friendly ears.

Totally agree with your *hint* .... trucks are a necessary part of our road environment, and all road users should take your tips on board. I know the bigger the rig, the more air turbulence etc is generated at speed and people need to be aware and take care.

Also be aware that the bigger the vehicle, the more room it needs.

Better to arrive 5 mins late and alive, than not arrive at all....
