Hope all goes well for you and the crew Rob.

To all those people in the affected areas now and in the next few weeks we all sincerely hope that everyone avoids the dangers of the fires and please keep safe. If you have to leave the area where you live then do so and avoid loss of life or injury at all costs.

I seems so funny aweek or so ago you were fighting floods and now like us you are wary of fires.
On our early morning walk around the zoo everywhere is tinder dry the keepers are on extreem fire watch....

off the topic of fires....this morning a baby giraffe was born ( little girl 1m. tall)

If anyone else is out there fighting fire Keep Safe...

cheers Phil

Take care Rob!!

Ditto above - if you're in effected areas - and if you have to, get out and keep safe! Pack up the PT ready! haha

I work for Queensland Parks and Wildlife and our guys are flat out at the moment too. There are fires everywhere. Hot and windy forecasted for the weekend - great!!
We've had fires burning all around us at home for about 3 weeks. Fortunately, we've had a couple of storms to help put them out and get rid of the smoke.

Best wishes and keep safe.

Arrived home last night from the Tweed after a stint up there . who knows where we go next . Our mid north crews kicked ass this time round when we saved two homes from going up in smoke while doing a 14hour stinton the day .we were pretty happy about the effort

By the looks of the way it's shaping up this year you mightn't be home a lot this summer Rob. These fires are getting worse and worse and with a few hot days leading up to chrissy, who knows.
We really need rain and plenty of it to quench all the fires and give everyone some relief.

your not wrong ,havent been home much in the last 4weeks or so it seems. Catching up on sleep. this is going to go on all summer . they were saying that where we were just at on our first day that they had 13 lightening strikes in the one area on the one afternoon. between the lightening strikes and someones giving the fires a helping hand by purposely lighting more its a very dim outcome for an early finish to the fires .
