Well I got to the miminmum $200 level so I am in this now. Going to be a hard slog but will be fun all the same. Will be different looking at the hawkesbury in the dark in a kayak.

I forgot to post how i went in this.

Well I did not go that well at all. I did 65km of the 111km. I had to retire at Wisemans Ferry after 10 hours of paddling. Starting at 4pm meant that it was a tough slog and at 2am I pulled into Wisemans Ferry ready to keep going. I cooled down and my lower back seized and I just could not go on.
I was not quite in the right kayak for the event but I will be attacking this again next year.

Got to raise just over $700 for the Blue Arrow Foundation though, so that was good.

Well I am doing it again, this time in an out and out race kayak. I have purchased a Horizon Flyer kayak. The model actually is the class record holder for the event.

So I am raising funds for Leukaemia research once again. I have already raised $347 for it with a target of $1000 this year.

Did the Wisemans Ferry to Spencer famil paddle on Saturday and did the 29km in under 3 hours.

Hi All

I know this is almost like begging but I am really wanting to raise funds for this great cause, the Arrow Bone Marrow foundation is raising funds for Stem cell research in leukaemia research and provides support to people undergoing leukaemia treatment.

The Classic is only a little over 30 days away and I am at the halfway mark in my target of raising $1000. If you can contribute please do. click on the link below in my signature.

Raising Money for Cancer Research

It's that time of year again!!
On 23rd and 24th of October, 2010 I intend to take part in the Annual Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, which is a 111 kilometre race from Windsor to Brooklyn. The race will start at 4pm and some 600 paddlers will experience the challenge and magic of paddling down the Hawkesbury River under the light of the moon. (Hopefully the latter will distract me from the effort of completing the distance!). Paddlers in the race enter for both the physical challenge and to raise money in support of the Arrow Bone Marrow Transplant Foundation, a charity registered to provide funds for cancer research at St. Vincent's Hospital. I set a goal of raising $1000 this year and have so far got just over $600

The event is organised by the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic Association who ensure that the maximum of the funds goes directly to the charity by charging us a separate entry fee of $88 to cover the cost of the running the race.

Your support, by either buying raffle tickets or sponsoring me in this year's Hawkesbury Canoe Classic, will enable this important research to continue. It could be considered your contributions are going towards beating the killer of this century - cancer, once and for all.

Raffle tickets are $2 each.
The raffle prizes are:

The day has almost come, I start this epic adventure at 4pm tomorrow. As of 9:20 pm tonight I (all of you) have raised $1076 for Bone Marrow Research =D>
