Due to circumstances beyond our control we couldn't leave as early as we wished to get to Young to be in the Autopro show & shine so we did the casual run over there with a stop off in Cootamundra for morning tea in one of the lovely parks there as the first half a dozen pics will show in the slideshow and watched a little bit of a sat morning game of cricket before venturing on. Only 2 PT's avail but who cares when having fun.
Passed a Cool Vanilla coming out of Young who was waving like you know what so we didn't get to see who that was.
On arrival we parked and wandered down to the Show & shine where there was some very smick looking vehicles.
Onto the markets that where set up at the now defunct railway station and what a crowd. Been to Young a couple of times before but this year the crowd seemed to be even bigger. It seems that these country towns in time of drought and hard times people seem to come out in droves to support this sort of thing. Plenty to see and buy and heaps of sideshow rides and even the banans in pajamas were there even for the big kids

. Off to the pub for a very nice steak for lunch where sitting at the same table as us were 2 couples who's kids and rellies live in Wagga and when we were told there names we know them all. Small world sometimes.
It was then off to line up for the grand parade which is the highlight of the festival. A little bit unorganised as the council has taken over the running of the show now but will get it right in the future. We were placed fairly close to the front so we didn't get a change to get too many pics of the floats etc and others in the parade as the end exit was different this year and a little bit hard to try to get back for taking pics.
The streets were packed with people to witness the parade. One of the biggest crowds yet that we have seen and also a lot of entrants in the parade.
We were lucky to meet up with a new owner of a PT in Young an 04 who asked if she could join in with us in the parade. Being a local a lot of people knew her and along with that we got a lot of waves and a lot of excellent comments on the PT's even though there was only 3 of us. Very very positive.
Our shirts created a lot of interest on the day. People in the street, people in shops and just people commenting in general. Lovely to see and lovely to hear. Nearly as many comments on the shirts as the PT's.
A very good day was had with excellent weather tossed in to help.
Slideshow of the day.
