Our weekend started last Thursday with the arrival of the Qlder’s in Wagga and also the Bling’s from Sydney.
Even though I had to work driving the courtesy bus on the night at my work I don’t think the BINGO ladies will forget there ride home for a while. This PT lot made sure of that. Singing songs and generally making plenty of noise.
Glad I didn’t know who they were……………..still don’t. Blank memory.
Friday morning 6 PT’s left Wagga heading south with a stop at Culcairn Bakery for a coffee and eats before moving onto Albury.
Friday was the usual meet and greet, a couple of squash’s and most retired to bed early, some a lot earlier than others.
Sat morning 9 PT’s headed north to Holbrook stopping at the Submarine Museum car park and doing the touristy thing just looking around. The whole group sticking together made for a well organised look at the shops. We organised to all meet at the Museum at 12 noon for a tour of the facilities.
If you have never stopped there to do this then consider it. The group had a most interesting tour and learnt a hell of a lot from the Hologram we sat and watched then a general look around at how a submarine is set up. Very very interesting. Even looking around the country side through the submarine periscope. Will put some pics at the bottom that I actually took through the periscope of the PT’s.
Lunch at the pub and after a bit more looking around we headed back towards Albury for a visit to the Kinross Woolshed pub. Everyone enjoyed the day and I imagine next year will be a little harder to topple what we did this year. Even I never knew what Holbrook had to offer.
Sat night was a most relaxing night with everyone participating in our St Pat’s theme. Sights we didn’t think we would see, especially someone whose name I think could be Geoff with his green undies. Boy was that an eye full. A very good night had by all.
Chryslers on the Murray 2010 has been and gone and this year with the new venue I personally think it made a huge difference to what we have been used to. The set out of vehicles in there categories made it so much easier to look around without getting confused at what you were looking at.
25 PT’s lined up to display and with a sprinkling of some more elsewhere in the park and I believe a few out in the car park. PT's were represented from Qld, NSW, Vic & SA.
Over 600 vehicles displayed this year so goodness knows how many more they can get in future years.
Congratulations to the winners this year
Best PT - Aquaman - David Jones
And runner up
Moonlight Express - Paul Roughley. Well done to both.
COTM 11 will be held on sat & sun 12th & 13th March. Book your accom early and don’t be disappointed.
Plans are already under way for what we will do in 2011.
Pics to follow when I get them uploaded into a slideshow.
Up periscope for a look around.
