TOPIC: Another writeoff
#63252
Re:Another writeoff 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Hi Chief.
When we were traveling to Sydney from Coffs we were to meet family at Port Maquarie
for coffee..as we reached the edge of town there was an pile of fur and blood splattered everywhere. So on return to the Highway we negotiated our way around this mess, only to discover that it was a DEER. May be I would expect to see these at Esk but Port was a supprise.

cheers Phil

Phil I suppose no matter what the animal is, if it's hungry it will go anywhere to get a feed. We'll all have to learn to keep our eyes open. Imagine what it's going to be like if it ever rains and there's a heap of feed around and they're all chasing it to get to it.

No roos here, but I've tagged 4 deer - one with my '02, 3 with my '05 PT. That's in nearly 190,000 miles (not KM) of drving.
Each time the PT and I have survived (but not the deer )

We spotted a deer just outside of Taree a few years ago on the way back from Grafton.
It was in the middle of the day amongst the trees in the centre of the highway.

And when we hit these sort of things I bet we would all say more than "Oh Deer."

Oh deer getting off track..for those who know my place yes they wander in our street to. They love Rose bushes (i dont).
I hit one years ago up at the start of the national park one night when I had my Bright Yellow G Pak LH Torana. It jumped off someones driveway that was above the road slightly and land right in front of my bonnet. Bent it that much I couldnt see over the bonnet. The deer ended up over the road and down the cliff. She's gone.

Well I couldnt fix it but it did get fixed. They were a pretty solid car but even then the radiator was wrapped around the engine. Was about midnight at the time, no phones and I still was able to drive the car down to the bottom of the mountain near the start of that New Sea Cliff Bridge to wait for a tow back home.
