Chrysler dealers have quoted me between $390-$450 for a new multi function switch with fog lights. I am not 100% sure if it is the problem so I looked on American PT sites & found other switches priced between $51 - $112US .So looks like I'll try that & hopefully save myself $300:unsure:

vhcruiser give Sam a ring at Mopar Motors in Melb he maybe able to help you or put you on the right track. He may even have one in one of the wrecks there. Worth a try.

Minimax, depending on which year you have, there's a secondary fuse box under/near the air intake under the hood and the fuse for the front fogs is there. The fact that they're staying on regardless of power is that the contact has fused -cheap crappy things!!! Pull the fuse and they won't come on - neither will the dash light.

Re:Fog Lights 1 Year, 2 Months ago
WOW!! Nearly 6.5yrs old and 109,000kms on the clock and my fogs are starting to come on all by themselves... Started on my way home from Rhododendrum run on Sunday... When the multi switch stalk is everything off and centre, the fogs come on... When I move the stalk just a little they go off - so have been turning the car off with the indicator flicked and the fogs don't come on! YAY! hehe

I noticed the suggestion a few posts up of the fuse for the fogs, so I might take that out tomorrow - just in case I forget to hit the indicator when I park it one day and come out from work with a flat battery at midnight lol

Any other ideas/suggestions? Seems from this thread history that it's most likely the stalk that needs replacing rather than the electricals etc... If so, greatly appreciate where I can get one from and where it can be installed...

Thanks
Dean

Dean when you replace the stalk make sure it doesn't have the rear fog light switch in it.
When I replaced mine in the 02 last time that's what I got.

I'm on my 2nd one in 8 years
Either Mopar Motors or Bleam Chrysler have them. Just ring and ask.

Just a thought- if you live somewhere where you don't actually need the fog lights, why not replace them with DRLs..... Something more useful, practical, and legal to have switched on.... (When ours arrive and I've fitted them will post some pics)

Saw a current model C-class Benz today with small round DRL's & small round Fogs- would be roughly the size you would need to fit both in the "cut-out" space available............
