To Paint or not to Paint? 2 Years, 3 Months ago
I have just purchased the latest PT and I would like to have a custom piece on my car. As it is likely to be the last model, my husband strongly disagree's and thinks I shoul keep it in original condition to hold its value. Any thoughts, I intend to keep this car a long time and I think that if I was ever to sell that it is likely to be purchased by another PT fan anyway...Oh and I have also had a hard time letting go of my 2001 model as I feel the interior has a much more retro feel and in the future I think that is what will become more collectable, any thoughts.

Hi Amanda (with a little bit of Polish I think)
I think the new pt's look great, mabe window tint & a suttle
amount of chrome not over the top.
thats all you wil need without going away from standard,Its always
a personal thing in the end.
Good luck.

Amanda C-Dog hit the nail on the head. It's a personal touch that you want and you do what you want.
Other PT owners will still like it as it's your thing not ours.
Just look at some of the pics on this forum, everyone has there own thing done and we all love what people do to enhance their own PT's.

Depends a bit on the artwork but I do not think it will devalue the car. Just don't expect it to add any value to the car. It is a personal thing but I'm with you on the retro interior of the older model PT. If I were looking in the future for one of these I would be looking for the more retro look.

If you look at my avatar I think you will get the picture on my position on the artwork.

I understand what you are going through. Many of my family and friends are saying we should put mine in a garage for the next 20 years as it would be worth big $$$.
I'm am planning on keeping for at least 20 years, but personally I think that the difference in value keeping it standard could mean down the track, would be far outweighed by the enjoyment I would get for all the years in between driving it as much as I want and customising it.

In the end as long as you can wake up every day and love what your looking at
go ahead and do what you desire. And don't worry about what anyone else say's or thinks.
