QLD road rules change as of 12 October 2009 2 Years, 4 Months ago
|
|
For all changes see the QLD Transport website
www.transport.qld.gov.au/Home/General_in...nd_regulations/Road/
I think someone has already mentioned it, but as of tomorrow it is a $40 fine for driving with your foglights on in clear weather.
I have a feeling that these changes are right across the country, so make sure you check before travelling interstate.

The further south you come the more money they collect. Certainly is a revenue raiser.

Not sure I agree - it's your word against them
I got pulled up at a stop sign they say I didn’t stop I say I did - I was towing a Jet Ski so I would not have turned right at a stop sign and risked someone hitting the ski without stopping. When I asked for the evidence they said “your word against mine” as they are not funded for video (obviously that what I was paying for) it was lunchtime and I recon they wanted to go to lunch and thought I was a young hoon as I was in the Wrangler. Pity they didn’t chase the girl who pulled out of a servo with her mobile attached to her ear a few minutes before and the hoon on a bike who went down the 60k main road at 100k at the same time instead of hiding in bushes trying to catch people out who might make a couple of second mistake at a T junction. I can probably understand nicking someone who may not of completely stopped at a cross road but not a T Junction. Get out there and do some real work and you might get some respect from the community is what I hear a lot of people say.

Can anyone explain the logic? Why is that illegal? What harm is there in it?

Instead of having standard factory fitted fogs that are set and aligned properly, some cars have fogs the size of dinner plates that can be horribly dazzling. I know, you can claim the same about headlights as well.....
I'm not sure of the logic but like most laws, they are introduced because of the small minority that abuse them and ultimately, to protect people from themselves and their own stupidity.
You can complain about revenue raising and other things as much as you want but like Jelly Bean said, if you're not doing something wrong then what is there to worry about. These guys on the road have got a job to do. They don't have kill sheets or quota's - they are just doing a job. Complain about revenue raising as much as you want - on one condition. When you need them in an emergency, you keep the "revenue raising" rant going............
