Hi, I'm a new PT owner (2008) 1 Year, 5 Months ago
Hi all, I just bought a 2008 PT a few days ago. She is black and her personalised plates will be PEETEE when the RTA gets around to making them.
I am wondering where is the best place to obtain accessories, I want to add some more chrome bits and I would really love a flame decal:) !
Also, how do we go for spare bits and pieces here in Australia?
And finally, is there anything I need to look out for -any known problems ? She had 18,000kms on the clock and I am her second owner. CHeers

Hi Bronwyn
Welcome to this site/forum.
Congratulations on your new purchase, nice car, nice colour.
Now as far as getting some chrome accessories (bling) there are many options and these are from all states.
I'm assuming your from NSW as originally your post was in the NSW section. As a Moderator to this forum I moved your post to this General section so you get a larger cross section of answers from everyone.
I'll pop back on shortly with some links you can use to get some accessories.
As far as any issues, No they are pretty hassle free but you have bought a pre loved vehicle so lets hope they've treated it nicely. Once again welcome and some others will reply to you shortly as well.

Welcome Bronwyn. You'll enjoy the PT, the people you meet and life will never be the same once you start adding the accessories and bling. It becomes very addictive.

Seeing Ray's a bit slow here I'll give you some sites to check out for chrome and accessories and I can guarantee it'll make a big hole in your piggy bank.

In Perth

In Melbourne

www.moparmotors.com.au/

On Gold Coast

And further afield in the States

Happy shopping.

Quite a few places for Bling ... just note not as many correct fitting bits available for the newest model ( 2006 onwards) so make sure you do specify that U have a 2008 ... apart from the obvious dash and headlights & interior color ... I still don't have the NEW tail lights on Blackopal as the socket size & orientation is different on the after market?? .. requires a little bit of cutting or filing .. rear bumper pads .. & ref problems ... I've not had any thing apart from "normal" wear & tear on 2005, 110,000kms ( spark plugs & leads .. brakes .. battery) & now a front left bearing (we will change BOTH) I have had central locking .. thinking lower steering arm bushes need to be checked as they are known to age .. but at 18,000 I am thinkg shouldn't be a problem esp if it has been looked after .. IE not hit too many POT holes or been 4wding U would have had a "coloured" slip done up there so that should or would have been picked up I would think ... 2008 may still has a little of the three year warranty from Chrysler so if there is any thing not "wear & tear" make sure U get them to fix before three years it Up ...

Thanks for your replies.
Yes Im in Sydney, NSW. My new baby was previously well loved, and why not! She does have a little crinkle in both her front and rear bumpers and I am already tempted to replace them. My previous car, a C3 Pluriel which is now up for sale, doesnt have as much as a paint chip on it - Im rather into keeping my car looking like it drove off the showroom floor.
I will no doubt get addicted to making her look amazing. I just love the results of the time and effort that some owners put into their cars.
SHe has already caused a sensation in the street - I nearly ran over the neighbour who came running across the road to have a closer look!
Do I find out off this website any activities around SYdney that we can attend?
Cheers

Hi and welcome

I think you have gathered by now that one thing about here is you will get plenty of support and answers to any questions you may have.
Its one of the great things about here, evryone is very helpful and freindly
As pointed out already there are numerous outlets for all things shiny for your PT that are available
With a good selection on offer both locally and interstate
Also there are numerous sites and retailers in the states with most found on Ebay or directly on their websites
There are several members who have the Flamed decals on there cars here in Sydney
I'm sure they will be around soon to set you in the right direction

Now for the getogethers you asked about
We have a club run once a month usually the 2nd Sunday of each month or close to that day
We also have several members who meet up just about evry other weekend
Most of the time it will be posted up on the forum under Cruises and events>NSW/Act with a week or two's notice

The next club run will be to Newington Armoury on 12th sept
Which so far we have 10 PT's attending
All the details can be found here-
www.ptcruisers.com.au/forum/nsw-act/sund...cruise-kind-off.html

Also on the 11th which is the Saturday we have several members attending a car show at Hoxton Park
The cars that are attending range from close to standard upto highly modified
We don't all own Show cars, we basically do it to help raise money for charities and usually a good day out

and then the following weekend Sunday 19th we have another outing
which has links to one of our members and we have currently 9 PT's attending this
More details can be found here-
www.ptcruisers.com.au/forum/nsw-act/sund...tem-of-interest.html

So feel free to come along
we can be a strange bunch but we DO have a great time
