Dot maybe able to help on this one as she had something like this a while back. I think they traced it to a worn wire on the back hatch where the wires go from the main body to the hatch. Correct me if I'm wrong Dot.

yeap .. I have had TWO issues .. one the back hatch etc . that was fixed under waranty .... second was the poccessed bit ... locks unlock & lock all night flatening the batery ... forget about changeing the door latches ..we did that made NO difference ... it is the remote module under dash cover ... look for the central locking post do a search .. pics are there ... sorry I am not at home base .. hey I found it .. helps when U get A FEW mINUTES TO look !!
www.ptcruisers.com.au/forum/faqs-and-adv...problems/page-2.html

I drove around for nearly 6 months with dash apart & the remote thing un plugged and using keys .. as when we plugged it in the locks would just DANCE during the night ... couldn't leave her parked ... we could MAKE her do it when we used the key in the passenger lock to unlock & lock a few times U would hear the motor s in the doors working & sometimes some would lock not the other etc ... SO ... the dealer said after putting her on the DRB .. it is most likely one of the two door latches ... print out side either or ....
we first replaced .. BOTH sides (this was cheaper optioin than the remnote thing ... we could STILL get the door locks to "dance" but thought maybe that is "normal" as no one could tell me it wasn't??!! ... two days later first thing in morning FLAT battery .. unplugged the remote module .. ordered a NEW one around $500 from memory (didn't coem from Singapore so that tells us it is not a NEW problem !!) got the dealer to PLUG it in and reprogram the fobs keys etc (once U have used it if it goes wrong U can't return it !!) ... had to MAKE sure they set it to MY options .. NO auto ALL lock at 15kms and hour ... no double click to unlock all one click does all .. and a few other things .. MAKE sure U specify or they will go back to factory settings ... after a week all was well no flat battery and no "dancing" I can use the key several times and it won't do it !! ... Frank changed the lights in the instrument cluster & put the lot together sunday before hippy night ... the whole deal with NO labor (Phantom & I did that!!) .. inc the door latches & DRB check & reprogramming cost around $1000 .... oh what FUN !!

from what your saying the problem seems to be the same as the one who told me . flat batterry etc .from what your saying is the dealer charged 500 dollars to programe the module after you had it all apart and then you reassemmbled it.thanks,Dot

dealer was not that expensive .. luckily .. back here at work (prob with having three bases !! ) got paper work out !! .. $ figures are about right ..

$55.00 to have the system checked with DRB and reports printed ...
LH door latch ..CH-K05027961AH list price 135.33
RH door latch ...CH-K05027960AH list price 141.78
NOTE I have s/h ones of these that are Probably still OK .. as replacing them did NOT fix my particular problem

the remote entry receiver module ..
part no CH-K04671880AD receiver keyless ent $536.92 unit list price
NOTE mine is a 2005 .. they did ask me to confirm the VIN no BEFORE I ordered & once it has been plugged in NO return!!
then 45.00 to have the system reprogrammed ... rmebr to mention HOW U wish it programmed ....

Labour cost PRICLESS!!! ....

since my report & final fix ... I have heard & seen Patriot Kiwi had same issues ... so on our Chrissy BBQ weekend ... Phantom & Hotpt disconected the wireless remote receiver .. Hot pt thought that Sam at Mopar M might be able to fix .. confirmed on Sudnay no it is NOT repairable, so our KIWI is using the manual key entry system .... until the money tree bares fruit OR a win in Tatts .. still safer than posibility of leavig car unlocked OR getting flat bettery ...

G'day FireFly , that was my topic & has been fixed(touch wood). Our problem seemed to be caused from a collapsed cell in our battery which showed up when the electrician did some amperage thing. Have had it replaced $145 battery only but seems to have done the trick, so far so good. Best of luck .
