Chrysler crushes line up. 2 Years, 3 Months ago
This is the heading in today's Melb. Herald sun cars guide. I could not scan it as my scanner is acting female. These are the vehicles facing the cut.
Sebring, pt cruiser, dodge nitro , dodge grand caravan, dodge caliber, dodge avenger, jeep compass, jeep patriot, jeep commander.
the reason being is that they are poor sellers and could be axed or re designed according to the new Chrysler - Fiat business plan.Lets wait and see is all we can do. If they had any brains they could at least remake the Prowler. What is staying is 300c, dodge challenger, chrysler town and country, dodge journey, grand cherokee and wrangler.

WELL WELL WELL very interesting, Thought something was going to happen when Fiat entered the building.

Hey KISS you better put your PT away and keep hold of her, if you can and not sell her.
And as for the rest of us PT owners welome to the Collectors item world of the very near future.
I know one thing i'm keeping mine and never letting her go.

As with a lot of car manufacturers There are way to many models across each range. Espedially when you look at the small quantities exported to countries like Australia. Sooner or later designs and cars change otherwise we would all still be driving Model T's.
As for collector value and hanging on to them How many other car models have been discontinued over the years and are still pretty much worthless or below original cost.

7000 roughly have been sold here 10-15% are owned by enthusiasts (roughly) Most of the Aussie collectables original special runs were by far shorter runs than 1000.
Realistically and not putting your car down but most owners will think the last model would be valuable in years to come.
But I would be hanging on to the firat batch of PT's that entered the country. These were bought with no future knowledge of Global Financial Crisis And saved by the last minute model runs. The first ones would not of been treated aswell as later model therefore less of them survive. Just an observation going by past markets and what I've seen as value.

most of the time the value is never realised for years later and it usually is the car least thought of being of any value at the time. Neons could fall into this catergory. MAYBE

That reminds me, it was nice to see a few Sigma's on prominent display at All Chrysler Day. I figure if my PT is worth a few dollars some day, I wouldn't be able to bear to part with it anyway, so may as well drive and enjoy.
I prefer to see Chrysler cut back on their range, instead of disappearing altogether.
