Umm, yeah well looks ARE indeed a subjective thing.
That Grill is really only dragging the PT further into line with the other Chrysler Models - in essence, it's the SRT optional Grill from the 300c AFAIK.
It's true the PT is Unique on the road - that's why we all love it - but nevertheless we're all free to like or dislike Chrysler's design decisions, and there's no doubt in my mind the PT is being Homogenised as time goes on.
I believe (and someone correct me if I'm wrong - I frequently am!) that this Special Ed look is, in fact, going to be part of the Standard look for the 2010 PT's and the Special ED will probably look less special as time goes on.
The reason I wanted it (and still do!) was because it offers EXCELLENT value bundling the Upgraded Stereo AND a Sunroof for $29,990.
Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE the changes Chrysler has made (though I disagree with most of them) and beauty is in the eye of the Be-(Lease?)-Holder. I thought (and still do) that the Convertible is, well, let's say "not pretty" - and in fact the PT is the only Vehicle that actually looks WORSE as a Convertible IMO -
BUT:
The Convertible was absolutely AMAZING value when it was offered semi-recently at $29,990 and no doubt, that's when almost all of the Forum members probably bought theirs - and more power to 'em!!!!
Looks are all relative anyway.
The First Year PT (which perhaps we ALL love more than ANY other design), looks positively TAME compared with the original PT Concept sketches, and indeed the Original Plymouth Pronto Cruizer Concept.....!
