Hey Bub.

Won't take long to BLING that bottom grill up if you know what i mean.
but At the moment i want to keep it pretty much standard being a special edition
that's what will keep it's value in years to come especially when they stop building them all together. now mwith fiat involved i think that won't be too far away.

I guess the grill is like a good scotch.....an acquired taste.

Ask me in 6 months what I think of it & I will probably tell you
a completely different story.

The new model is going to be a huge success and as I said " I'm jealous "

Umm, yeah well looks ARE indeed a subjective thing.

That Grill is really only dragging the PT further into line with the other Chrysler Models - in essence, it's the SRT optional Grill from the 300c AFAIK.

It's true the PT is Unique on the road - that's why we all love it - but nevertheless we're all free to like or dislike Chrysler's design decisions, and there's no doubt in my mind the PT is being Homogenised as time goes on.

I believe (and someone correct me if I'm wrong - I frequently am!) that this Special Ed look is, in fact, going to be part of the Standard look for the 2010 PT's and the Special ED will probably look less special as time goes on.
The reason I wanted it (and still do!) was because it offers EXCELLENT value bundling the Upgraded Stereo AND a Sunroof for $29,990.

Don't get me wrong, I don't HATE the changes Chrysler has made (though I disagree with most of them) and beauty is in the eye of the Be-(Lease?)-Holder. I thought (and still do) that the Convertible is, well, let's say "not pretty" - and in fact the PT is the only Vehicle that actually looks WORSE as a Convertible IMO -
BUT:
The Convertible was absolutely AMAZING value when it was offered semi-recently at $29,990 and no doubt, that's when almost all of the Forum members probably bought theirs - and more power to 'em!!!!

Looks are all relative anyway.

The First Year PT (which perhaps we ALL love more than ANY other design), looks positively TAME compared with the original PT Concept sketches, and indeed the Original Plymouth Pronto Cruizer Concept.....!

Re:2009MY PT Cruiser 2 weeks away 2 Years, 3 Months ago
Well I have now had the new PT since the 2nd of this month and I have found unfortunately the first issue with it. It is due for it's first service (1000 kms) next week as the clock is at 970kms. The aircon has seemingly gone a bit stale and is not pumping the air like it did when I first got it, in fact it is rather dull now, so I am not sure what is going on there. Not sure if anyone else has had this problem. I had an aircon problem with my mother in laws VW Polo, but I would have assumed this wouldn't give me grief. The 2001 Mazda Protege we still have is as cold with the aircon as the day we first got it.
Little bit saddened by this one... It should be fixed hopefully under warranty.
Cheers all..

.. tis a mechanical item that can have glitches .. why the first service is after just 1000kms after a little shake down !! ... we have it with all the MAKES at work .. we DO have trouble getting (broken & dirty) things (on so called NEW cars) fixed under waranty and that makes me pretty dissallusioned, dissapointed and MAD .. lets just hope yours is a little bug in the system that the chrysler boys can iradicate ... they can't afford any bad publicity .. cause I could HELP with that one !!

Queenofbling welcome and what a great idea to keep an EYE on him. You stick to your guns and make sure EVERYTHING is run past you.

I don't think he'll be running tooooo far.

Don't forget we know about the 2nd part of the deal and we're pretty confident he'll stick to that one.

Re:2009MY PT Cruiser 2 weeks away 2 Years, 3 Months ago
I don't know about you, but my new PT sits up a bit higher than I would like. In fact it sits up on the newer models higher than the older ones for whatever reason. I think the first modification for me would be to lower it by about 2 inches. Would anyone know where to get a good set of lowering springs and also I need new rubber bump stops fitted as the ones on there now are too long. Apparently, according to the sales guy I spoke with only yesterday, FIAT is looking to keep producing the PT past 2010, but they will be doing deals on the car retro-fitted with all the extras such as these great cars we have managed to pick up. They mentioned in a meeting to the dealers that if they could produce one with all these extras as standard, would they be able to sell them and the answer was a resounding yes. They currently have one manual cruiser left at the Holland Park Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership here in sunny brisvegas. As far as Brisbane goes, I doubt there would be more than 5 in the surrounding areas.

Would be interesting though if FIAT plans to pick up on the PT and keep producing them, but if not, I am glad I got my hands on one of the last factory blinged up PT's in existence. I still reckon if you have the chance entertain the thought of trading your older PT in and grabbing one of these!

Re:2009MY PT Cruiser 2 weeks away 2 Years, 3 Months ago
With all the speed humps and bumps around i don't have a problem with the height if i were to lower it it would only be the back end.
Best part of them is that not much bling is needed, and as there are only a few around it would probably be best to keep them as standard as possible and just hope in another 10 or so years all PT CRUISERS will be the classics of the future and everyone will be wanting to get hold of them, As for fiat i'm sure they will be wanting to change things and put there own ideas into it, i recon ( and this is my personal opinion) they will be changing the PT as we all know it today don't be surprised if they change the name also, anything is possible in the auto industry with changing names and just rebadging cars like many others do, The PT of today I think will be no more in the near future??? but we all will just have to wait and see.

HAPPY CRUIZIN
