Another thing to try and find is a product called Brite Shine (I think). It's great for chrome and alloy. It's a cotton wadding that comes in a tin. You only need to use a small amount and then polish off with a clean dry cloth. A tin of this stuff will last for ages.

I'd just try soap and water first and then if they are still marked I would just use one of teh proper chrome polishes from Mequiars, Mothers etc.

I have used that Brite Shine before and it's good

Soapy car wash and then regular car polish. There was issues with the chrome peeling a while back so try not to use anything abrasive or caustic.

wheel clean 3 Years, 1 Month ago
hi Whitechick, i would use good old washing up liquid and warm water only,
just take some time first to wash the rim's with hot water, getting into all the little bits, then go over them with the warm water and washing up liquid and the trick is take your time dont rush it, the more time you put into it the better thay will look, then once you have finished rince them off with fresh water and dry them with a clean cloth, after that to get the water mark's out go over them with one of them very good micro fiber cloth's and sparkel them up,.then get $2.99 can of tyer clean in a spay can to clean the tyer's up from cheep as chip's or some dollar shop and there you go ...

i know this seam's a lot of work but that's how i clean all my chrome up on my car and it work's very well.

i dont like these fly by night wheel cleaner's thay seam to ''eat in to the layer of protitive film thay put on the rims from new and end up going dull.....with road grim and break dust....

hope this help's .....zebra....

I have been using this product for many years and highly reccomend it. Its great for real chrome and goes ok on the plastic chrome aswell. This stuff is non abrasive and works on any metal or chrome surface. Joan steals it from time to time to polish silver wear and jewelery(not that we have much of that ) And it does last forever I have only purchased 4 tins over 15 years or so. I used it on the Charger when I had that. There is a similar product in a black tin by Eagle one, It is alright if you can't find BRITE SHINE in the yellow tin. When I purchased the tin I have now about 5 years ago it was $4.50 from Auto One and still is more than half full.
As for tyres Where I work they still have the 4 Kumhos and 4 Hankooks for $250.00 for the 4 they are 195 X 65 X 15's They are brand new and only done 2-3 Klm's Pickup is Parramatta. If your interested let me Know (PM)

I use a product called "Toughseal Alloy Wax - For Alloy, Chrome & Highly polished Wheels" It basically put a thin invisible coating on your rims that stops brake dust & road grime sticking. Its very easy to apply & each coat lasts about 3 months. Once its on you just wash the wheels as normal(soap & water) and you'll find the road grim and dust just wipes straight off.
