TOPIC: Rear Toe In

Rear Toe In 3 Years, 11 Months ago
Can anybody help me with this problem??? I am chewing tyres out every 12 months on the rear of our PT. We have a toe in problem and no "experts" can tell us how to fix it. All they say is that we have to get our rear axle bent to fix it. Can anyone else help us.

Hi Dennis and Chris....

There may be a "camber kit" available that could help...

Have a look on Cruisin On.....(I'll check with my contacts in the next few days to see if I can get some info--I'll be in touch)

Cheers Scottie

You can get shims for the rear stub axle , I have seen them on US sites and ebay
sounds a simple job , any good wheel alignment specialist should find it easy
The stub axle bolts off so i have been told and the tapered shim fits behind it

I'm steering specialist, and we spent quite some time working out the measurments. and if you follow the instructions it should be ok.

The PT Cruiser manual available on ebay explains the process as well.

I do not think the PT is alone in requiring shims to do rear alignment. My '02 needed them after hitting a pothole bad enough to crack a rim.
A good shop should be familiar and be able to do it.
