Down here in Victoria they have just added a new law called the Hoon law, which means if you are caught being a hoon and doing wheelies you loose your car for 48 hours for the first time, with a heavy impound cost and fine. For the third and final time you loose the car for good, it also applies to a car you have lent to someone (you loose your car if they play up).
Also If a car is found to be under 100 ml in height at the lowest point with a full tank of fuel and passengers, it can be taken under these laws.
This came in on the 1st of July this year, In Ballarat we have had three cars removed so far.

Hi Nicetoys,
Welcome to the forum.
If King Springs don't manufacture the dropped springs you are searching for, that should tell you something.
Get a brochure from Qld Transport offices for legality. It's going to get tougher, very soon. The boys in Canberra are working on some interesting stuff. After that each State gets to have a go. (After the poor effort with motorcycle exhaust legislation, there is a chance they will be trying to ensure they won't get it wrong again.)
You could also try Gold Coast Suspensions, 8 Price St, Southport.
There is a sign on Ferry Road, Southport indicating a place that will do lowering for $450.00.
Regards.

I think you'd find the standard front of a PT (especially teh older models) would be running a pretty fine line on the 150mm, before you lower anything

what about if you included the little plastic part underneath? That would brinig it down to 100mm I'd think.
So just remember guys even half an inch could get you into trouble, not that PT's attract trouble.

What are you saying how much to get it lowered? If so your looking between $300 - $700 depending on what springs and who does it.

LOL – too much, air suspension. I think your looking at at least a couple of grand plus getting it fitted, then it also has to be legal in your state. It’s a big job

Re:help me, LOWERING A PT? 1 Year, 3 Months ago

Wasnt sure if I was to make my own topic or just jump on this,,
Anyways, I had DWCustoms in Vic. put in front and back Slamm Airbag suspension about this time last year. It was just something I've always wanted to put on the vehicle. I get a kick jacking the car up and down at lights.
The first few months of having the airbags it felt very rough,, I could feel every grainy bump and crack on the road.
Shit,, I thought to myself,, "What have I done?!?"
After a year, the tightness of the airbags has reduced,, and now getting a smoother ride .. but you do still have to look out for pot holes of course.
In the case you do hit one.. you'd better wear a helmet.
The whole kit was about 7k including the engineering certificate.
Any questions?

The ride nowdays is alot better compared to when i first got it. I'm guessing the bags needed to be worn in a lil.. they were alot harder at the start.. maybe next time I'll let yas have a drive around and feel.. you can make your own minds up.. Im kinda used to it now..
