Most of us! Except me - I'm still riding high so I can get around construction sites without needing to be towed out - only happened once though and luckily there was a backhoe within cooee....

Would like to but can't convince the other half. I scrape our drive way now if I don't reverse out on an angle so I don't like my chances in sweet talkin him into the idea .

just running lowered at the moment but some guys have the Strut Tower Brace, and a few other have fully adjustable shocks and airbag suspension. From all reports all 3 have improved handling.

Even with just the lowering it seems to help a little too. Next suspsion part for me while be the stut Tower Brace.

Yes, I know all about the scraping part. Both PT's have Eibach springs so we have to be careful at steep driveways and high curbs. At first, when Daisy first took over the '01, she wanted the stock springs put back on because the ride is a little stiffer than stock. I convinced her by having her take her PT quickly through a couple of S turns by our house. With the car lowered and the strut bar the '01 corners like a slot car. She loved it.

Know that feeling well. Our driveway isn't too bad but my parents. I'm good getting out but Andrew (used to driving the F Truck with about 12' clearance) has taken the straight line and scrapes my pipes. Not happy Jan..........

Mean Green...dropped mine 2 inches with drop zone springs..thanks Krooozer...major major handling upgrade achieved with that change, roll = 0, suburban chicane are now flat chat, although ride is significantly harsher especially when hitting ruts, dips or steps that run directly across the road.
Just fitted a strut brace last week...thanks cruisinon...the difference...its hard to be accurate without fancy instruments to measure lateral forces etc... but i have a feeling that it turns into the corners easier....which i think is a reducing of understeer?...Maybe the wheel alignment has shifted a bit or its me wishing there is some change. Maybe i should have added the brace first as i think the change that it makes is more subtle than spring changes.
Whatever, it looks good all shiny under the bonnet and the changes have been a plus..apart form having difficulty getting it onto wheel alignment machines. Scraping is not causing problems but hitting the bump stops on shopping centre speed bumps is annoying.
Mean..Do you have the rear sway bar?

was the strut brace you installed a import from the USA for a left hand drive car? and if so does it fit a right hand drive car without any modifications.

The brace is from allan at cruisinon, he sources them from PT-
Tuning in USA, they get them made by a subsidiary called BTG and there is a sticker on mine saying that is was made in south africa. so it is a bit of a multicultural item.

So to answer the question. It is designed for a LHD. It fits my RHD with no mods needed. I do have these points to make.

Mine is a manual and I do not have cruise control. So i dont have that big servo on the drivers side firewall so i cant say if it will foul on that.

However i do have an alarm mounted on the firewall near where the servo should go and I dont have any probs with that.

Clearance to the appearence cover is plenty although i havent tried to get it off yet. I haven't checked for access to clutch, steering or brake reservoirs yet. Due for a service this week so i will update on that.

Access to the radiator overflow bottle has become a little more difficult. The lip you put your finger under to flip it up is now under the edge of the brace. You can still open it up ok without bending it out of shape and look inside. Coolant could be added with the use of a funnel(good practice anyway).

Fitting was a snap, half an hour including unpack/pack the tools and a quick polish to remove the finger prints. I should have some pics in about a week and will post them.

Hi guys, I've had a set of pedders lowered springs fitted for 2 years now and they've been great. Dropped the cruiser about 2" in the front and
2 1/2" in the rear. At this height the ride is still comfortable and the cornering is improved 100%. We only bottom out on huge potholes and can still get in the driveway.

Ive got Pedders the handling improved 100% but if you still want some clearance i dont suggest putting a front spoiler on.
It looks good but im limited on were i can drive it ,even things like getting fuel can be a problem its always easy to pull in but bloody hard to get out

Cruiser sure does look sweet with front spoiler hot pt. Need to ask santa for airbag suspension this christmas. I'd love to drop mine lower but it would limit access too much

Has anyone removed or modified the bump stops on a lowered PT?
I have the 2 inch drop but left the stops unchanged. I now get the feeling i am running into the stops on the rear sometimes. Suggestions

I cut mine nearly in half, every car ive had has been lowered so i knew this but when i bought my springs they told me to do so anyway.
If you dont cut them it will be like bottoming out all the time, just a shame you have to pull it all apart again.
