Hopefully an announcement about who will be selling them will happen soon as the manufacturer finishes negotiations with a company to sell these PT products for them. Ken.

Hey Wendy,
Are the problems with the factory bushes covered under a tech bulletin or is just a general warranty replacement (meaning duke it out with the dealer) for those that fail.
I think mine are going as the trouble & strife has reported a knock from right hand front when cornering sometimes.

Throw the boxing gloves on Shauny-boy! Owners have been making multiple complaints to the NHTSA for the last year or so but no TSB has been listed about them to date. Guaranteed the replacement factory ones will fail too. I'm due for a check up on the poly ones so I'll let you know how they're going.

I should add that they'll immediately blame the lowering of your car. If they do, there's a few lowered PT's on the east coast that have bushings replaced under warranty - I'm sure these guys will pass on their dealership details for your battle.

Wendy,

If you could keep us all informed it would be really good.

I have just had all the bushes on the front end of Blade replaced, 86,000km, and $448 later.

A cheaper, longer lasting alternative would be very welcome.

Thanks,

Mark

Blade
Maybe if you stop doing burn outs they may last longer

Now Paul, my CV joints are just fine so burn outs aren't an issue. It was an inherited problem apparently. So you can't blame me. So there!

Mark, it's a design problem more than anything and be grateful you got that many k's out of them! My first set were torn and replaced at 75,000k and the second set only made it to 115,000k before they were stretched and giving that horrible groaning noise.

I've done nearly 30,000k on the poly ones. The only thing is there is some groaning when they seem to get a bit dusty but that's it. Apparently the poly ones will be ready to hit the market soon.

A quick sidenote to say that at nearly 150,000k, front shocks and struts are in fantastic condition with one rear shock starting to get a bit saggy. I did have the other rear shock replaced at 60,000k under warranty because it blew so no doubt if it went the distance it'd be getting a bit sorry for itself too.

I'm happy with the way it's all holding up though considering the horrendous driving I put my car through!!!

I received an email today from the company that is manufacturing the replacement bushes. They are now available to purchase. Attached is the information regarding the bushes.

Thanks Alchemist.
Mine is up to 113K with the originals and lowered. But i had to swap the left front wheel the other day due to wear on the inside but right side is ok. maybe an indicator for a bush change.

As I was changing the brake pads on Rachelle's car this afternoon I noticed both Front Lower control arms rear bushings stuffed.
Are they easily replaced at home with out any special tooling or one of those jobs that is just easier to pay to get done? Don't want to get it all apart and then have hassles that would not be there with the right tools etc.
