ADVICE BADLY NEEDED 3 Years, 1 Month ago
I bought our 2004 Classic in March 2006 and I believe it had already been lowered 2 inches front & back prior to then using Pedders Springs.

Present wheels are 16 inch Speedy with near new rubber.

Obviously since the PT was lowered, the ride has been firm & now that I have developed a bit of a back problem I am thinking of reverting back to the original size springs & softening the ride.

The " expert " around our way is getting a price for 4 genuine springs for me and indicated that they would not be cheap.

At the same time, he will try and get prices for non-genuine springs.

The question, silly as it may sound is " will reverting back to the original size springs improve the ride to any great degree ? " OR do you have any suggestions for me ( sensible ones that is ).

Just got the costs over the phone
Supply & fit front & back genuine springs $1340.00

Any help you can give would be appreciated.

Cheers
Chris

Might be cheaper to go to 15" wheels - there is more rubber between rim and road, and gives a softer ride.

Spot on DON! I am lowered front and rear had 17" wheels on and I hated the way my PT drove ......go back to 15"s keep it lowered and you cant go wrong ...best thing I ever did its like a gocart with good bump rideability and I live in the country "Where the best potholes are"
