TOPIC: Squeek when turning right
#58832
Squeek when turning right 2 Years, 8 Months ago
After my car has warmed up a bit, I can hear a squeaky rubber kind of noise whenever I turn my steering wheel to the right. It doesn't happen at home or at the mechanics (haha) - only after I've driven about 20kms or so. Does anyone have any ideas?

Since its been to a mechanic(chrysler?) He would more than likely checked the steering pump levels. If it was a Chrysler Mechanic he would of checked the lower control arm bushes and not the steering pump levels.
So It could be either one of those but could be something else completely different aswell, I'm just giving you my thoughts.

It could be the clock spring - it's behind the horn panel, goes round and round with the wheel. Mine's been making a swooshing noise for years and Chrysler said just to leave it - so I have!

When I saw the topic heading, I just thought this was a new method of indicating that you are turning left when driving in Toowoomba.

Mmmmmmmmm sounds like strange things happen in Toowoomba. What no roundabouts, you have to go left all the time. Sounds a bit like Canberra, going around in circles.

I agree with Wendy.....once again.
Mine has a slight rubber squeek sound when turning the steering wheel slowly and I feel it's in the upper section of the steering column where the "clock spring" is situated.
Of course it only appeared just outa warranty but I can live with it since I dont use my car that often.
