Re: More Central Locking Problems 4 Years, 2 Months ago
Hmmm. I think I see some kind of conspiracy. 4 cars with locking problems, all 2005 build and all Deep Plum.

Someone at the factory is out to get us.

Oh well they had to do something to slow down the sales on "THE MOST POPULAR COLOUR"

don't worry i'm white and mine does it to when she feels like it, had it checked and of course they never could find anything - it only happens very intermittently and i can't even use the key to get in just have to wait till she lets me in

My wife had the passenger side rear window go down on its own the other day, and wouldn't go back up for a few minutes Our car is a 2001 model, I just hope this isn't the start of a lot of problems [-o<

It seems strange that these problems are intermitant and so varying with either door lockings and now a strange window operation.............hope it's not Santa's elves playing games with everyone.
Seriously they are annoying small problems.

well we are now in stress mode ... central lockng is doing its OWN things over night while parked .... hasn't flatted the battery YET !!!?? ... I will not be able to leave her any where un attended & will have to make sure I have the keys on me at all times .... or I will get locked out .... phantom has a theory & did a goggle search ... think it may be the remote keyless entry module .... located in the dash ... let U know how we go ... got to get back to Melb first !!

the RKE module is available from Chrylser (local) ... for around $500.. service gent suggested to have her connected to DRB to see if any thing shows .. as once U have bought a NEW unit and plugged it in it is NOT returnable .... be worth the few minutes to find out .... SO wed early am we have a date!! .. think she has a few dates this next few weeks !!
I had to get jeepster to SUPER vise !!

and the position of the unit

no comments on the dust and dirt .. all ON the list !!

update !! .. went to the local dealer .. & YES they were VERY helpful !! thankyou !! .. put the control unit back and tested for codes .... yeap at least two faults possible shorts (they gave us the reports) ..... cleared codes and she is working fine (at this stage !!) ... no NEW unit required at the moment ... Phantom & the gang here will have to do some tickling of the wires and some probing and proding .... BUT if she plays UP I just have to disconnect the unit .. boy am I glad I invested in the dash mat .... just looks ODD having two dashes .. one on the front & one on the back seat

well it is not fixed .. we can make her do her lock "dance" using the key ... so she has been locked in the garage for 5 days with the module un plugged .. so we dodn't get a flat battery .... start of a short week ... so will still be in pieces for cruise saturday ... code rpeort will require analising too ..

Re:More Central Locking Problems 2 Years, 7 Months ago
I purchased a 2004 Burgundy model about 3 months ago from SA and I live in NSW.(dry state to wetter state)
After the first big rain down pour the central locks played up. It was like the car was possessed. Locks locking and unlocking continuously.

So now every time we have heavy rain Linda Blair rears her ugly head then after a day of no rain all is OK again.

Any ideas anyone besides an exorcism?
thanks

Check door wires and connections. Do they have any potential shortages, especially the wires to the door lock/unlock button?

Ooh... I wonder what type of ceremony / technique / practices go with a PT exorcism?

Seriously, I hope you are able to sort this one quickly.

Cheers
