I have not experienced this problem with my PT. Could be worse though. Many years ago travelling from Canberra to Sydney on the old Federal Highway in my XB Ford Fairmont dipped my driving lights for on coming traffic and everything went out. At the time was entering the tightest turn for the whole trip but nothing but darkness. Good thing I knew the road, but not well enough as I didn't turn enough and we went onto the shoulder. Next thing we were doing 80km/hour backwards on the Federal Highway. Fortuantely nothing more than a scare. Thank goodness for high quality tyres.
Problem turned out to be a faulty light switch (which was separate to the dipper on the stalk!).

I have been to the local dealer and they were terrific .. stalk was replaced no questions asked .... they also checked codes as I had a few bad cold morning starts nothing found ... also the rear window trim on drivers side was looking tardly .. they replaced that under waranty too ...

Hi everyone,
Well my poor little PT is currently experiencing some problems first with the indicator switch/fog lights and also with the thermo fan.
My fog lights seem to be stuck on but when I have the indicator turning left they turn off. So my question is where did everyone get their fixed/replaced and how much?
Thankyou
Katie

Hi Katie,
This seems to be a common problem. Seems to occur with the indicator stalk. My son's 03 is having this after 5.5 years but had fog lights and indicator stalk fitted only about 3 years ago. My 05 does not have any problem with fogs fitted about 2 years ago.

David I got mine from Mopars when it cacked itself the last time and like you I didn't get the rear fogs one as I didn't use them anyway so Sam hooked up the Euro reversing lights for me and only use it for the front ones.

I cannot see any point in rear fog lights, I want to see where I am going
not where I have been.
So I disconected my rear fog light, jumped wires across from reverse
light , now I have two .
Just my opinion.

I need front and (particularly) rear fog lights as we get very thick fog here to within 15 feet of visibility. Also share the road with several huge trucks who never seem to slow down regardless of conditions as they look to meet their deadlines.
My front fogs kept coming by themselves when the car was parked, so I'd return to a flat battery after work every time. I do 50,000km a years so was just outside the warranty. Chrysler know all about this happening and replaced it for something like $550 all up.
From what I can tell it seems to happen around 2 years for those that need the fog lights. If you can live without them remove the fuse - something to watch out for when buying a used PT. Also, park with the left indicator ON if you want to avoid returning to a flat battry.

Can anyone give me the address to the US site for the cheeper combination switch.
(this site is so helpfull )
Honey moon has eaten up all my money
It looks like the maybe dealer pulled the fuse on the fog lights before we bought it, this together with a dodgey service history book.
But now even with no fuse the foggies come on all the time, I have now disconected both the fog lights.
Cheers

My fog lights are not working at the moment ,does anyone know if the rear fog switch can be used to turn the front ones on if connections are changed as we rarely use the rear fog & it still works.
