You can contact Ben on 0415 953 764 as I know he does them....his brother cuts the design and he lays the tint over it....not sure what it costs.

Just ring around the tint places and ask them. You’ll find they will not advertise it as I think it is technical illegal if used in certain places. I’ve wanted to get it done myself one day too. They have fully re-tint your car if it’s already tinted.

(the ADR book says) ... as long as YOU have BOTH side mirrors U don't need to be able to see out the back windows (never mind how good they are set to driving conditions!!) ..... but DO need to be able to see out front two certain light readings etc .. ie when towing U can't see what is behind U & when U have 3 people sitting in the back and the rear FULL to the top as U see many station wagons U NEVER see them getting PULLED over !!! .... many LCVs don't come standard with windows in the back at all cept back doors and then U have them with refridgeration panels OR all full of shelves or boxes etc they MUST have BOTH side mirrors & the BIG trucks DEFINATLEY can't see out the rear window when they have a load on the back ..... the Vision pack Voyagers have the dark tint in the glass on ALL windows cept front two standard from factory ... BOTH side mirrors are on a PT & Voyager or Panel cruisers / panel vans are OK too !! ... besides with rear beepers and cameras who needs the rear windows !! Krispy Kream has the back windows covered not totally blocked ... so why not flames on back & side back windows

if you get the rear hatch window done you are fine, but teh side windows could be a different story.

What the problems is, is that they usually do the flames in mirror tint which is less than the allowed tint %, thus can be deemed un-roadworthy of inspected. I feel personally that you’d be ok with a normal cop especially if you rolled your window down so they wouldn’t see it anyway but you do need to be careful.

p.s. – I know they can also do it in different colours which maybe fully legal.

p.p.s – I’m not hassling you but, as my normal tint is less than the allowed %.

STUPID really ... pink slips BLUE slips green slips NSW has nothin but coloured petticoatslips !!

HOW WEIRD IS THIS. TRIED RINGING BEN ABOUT THE TINTING, BUT DIDN'T GET A REPLY. WAS AT MY MECHANIC/PANEL SHOP TODAY AND A FORD LASER DRIVES PAST WITH THE CHROME FLAMES IN THE WINDOW TINTING, MANAGED TO STOP HIM AND GET A PHONE NUMBER, THE NUMBER ENDS UP BEING BEN'S BROTHER!!! COULDN'T BELEIVE IT, WHAT A SMALL WORLD! ANYWAY GOT AN ANSWER THIS TIME HAPPY WITH THAT! PT'S BOOKED IN FOR NEXT SATURDAY!!! WILL POST PHOTO'S UP WHEN DONE!!!
