Hi. I've just got a PT & I am thinking of putting a tow bar on it, Does anyone have a picture of a car with one fitted so I can see how it looks, (I don't want my PT to look ugly !! ). Thanks

Don't be concerned. The factory tow bar sits in under the rear bumper and with the tongue unbolted you can hardly see it is there.

The tongue does bend up a bit and unless you are using it all the time you would be at risk of being fined for obscuring the number plate.

Will try and get some pics of mine up but I'm sure Dot might beat me to it

We had a towbar fitted. It does not look too bad at all

Mine is normally off and only bolted on when I need it. If you get the flat pak for the electrics then you will not see anything that should not be there and just a reminder that the towing limit is only 450 Kgs

Hi wombi here is a tow bar company that i used and they have done many tow bar's for PT they are called carlton tow bar 95473355 in carlton n.s.w

Hayman Reece have one listed as well if you don't want to go back to Chrysler.

From memory the Hayman Reece bar is rated at 1000kg but this does not over ride the cars crappy limit of only 450kg

Hi Wombi as you will learn we do not buy much of the dealers they just charge three times the price i know i didnt pay any where near that price around & 300 give carlton tow bar a ring i have left the number for u on a previous reply & they wont ripp u off and if u need any thing else we can put u on to cheeper aftermarket sellers here in AUS aswell in the USA cheeper than here

I had a good mate wire ours up and instead of having the wiring behind the bumper he's put it in the jack compartment inside the hatch so I just have to dangle the cable out the rear hatch when towing.

This is from the Hayman Reece web site. You would need to add fitting and wiring to this but they are easy to fit (kind of)

i had one on my pt but it was ugly XD so i took it of and it was only 2bolts and now looks so much better, but if i need to toe something itll be easy as to put it back on
