Running production changes 7 Years, 5 Months ago

There have been quite a few running changes both at the beginning and during production years. On of the most substantial changes was when the production of right hand drive PT Cruisers was moved to Graz in Austria in July of 2001. This plant was only operating for 5 months making the 2002 model year PT Cruiser, with a handful of these landing on Australian shores. The 2003 Model Year also saw the introduction of the Touring Edition. Some of the running production changes are listed below.
2001 Model year - early build - Feb 2000 - July 2000
2001 model year - normal production year - July 2000 - June 2001
Addition of rear window controls on front power window module
Addition of heated front seats
2002 model year - July 2001 - June 2002
Discontinuance of Taupe Frost, Shale Green & Aquamarine
Introduction of Steel Blue, Light Almond, Onyx Green, Dark Garnet Red
Discontinuance of tilt adjust front head rests
Discontinuance of fold in side mirrors
Discontinuance of embroidered floor mats in the Limited Edition
Graz build:
Introduction of Auto-Stick® Transmission
Introduction of painted bumpers
Introduction of black aerial
2003 model year - July 2002 - June 2003
Introduction of Electric Blue, Chrome Edition and Street Cruiser Series II
Introduction of Touring Edition to be slotted between the Classic and Limited
Discontinuance of low speed traction control on the Classic & Touring Edition
Introduction of painted bumpers on all Editions
Change of fabric and leather on all Editions
Standard automatic transmission changed to Auto-Stick® Transmission
Introduction of side airbags on Classic & Touring Edition
Cruise Control standard on Limited Edition
Discontinuance of rear strut bar on all Editions
Discontinuance of chrome wheels on Limited Edition
Introduction of chrome clad wheels on Limited Edition
2004 model year - July 2003 - June 2004
Discontinuance of White, Cranberry
Introduction of Dark Plum, Cool Vanilla, Sea Mist Green
Aerial has been moved from front quarter and is now roof mounted
Small changes such as removal of trim piece between passenger airbag and glove box compartment.

I thought my new one was made in Mexico? I haven't checked really... most under the bonnet things I leave to the people that know more than me, which is mosty everyone!
So do they still make them in Austria?

I think your right World Prohpet. I think thats why Wendy only has Austria on the 2002 models. As far as I'm aware they are back in Mexico
