Re: Running Boards 6 Years, 5 Months ago
Hi Guys, the running boards are strong secure and functional. You can stand on them with ease and no danger. The do not stick out so have no fear of ripping them from your beauty.

I've got the E&G Classics running boards on both of my PT's, just love the look. I also have the E&G sun visors on each car. Makes quite a different look to the car. Only a couple problems with the visors, if you're at a stop light, you have to look under the visor to see the lights. Other issue with them is the wind noise, vibration, and also the change in the flow pattern of the rain on the windshield. I always use Rain-X on my windshields and now with the visors, the rain will flow straight up the windshield until it gets about level with the lip of the visor and then it changes direction and flows sideways. Right where I normally look through. My wife doesn't have the problem, seeing as how she sits lower in the seat.

Hi There. Check that the visor is installed correctly. We had two goes and had to re spray the roof, No problems now, bit of waving at high speed, but I am cool with that.

Sun Visors 5 Years, 10 Months ago
I did lots of measuring and fretting and stewing before I started drilling holes in the PT. Kind of a leap of faith, you'd say. Both kits came with the beef up corigated pieces under each side. Before I screwed them down permanently, I taped them off and fay sealed them with fuel cell sealer. That stuff will hold them on forever and it'll never leak. Just hope that I don't have to replace any more windshields.
Both visors act the same way in windy conditions, especially when meeting trucks. You'd think that the visors would almost rip off the way they flex. I've had the visor on my '01 for a year and a half and it hasn't shown any sign of cracks of any other problem.

You'll love the running boards when you get them. Mine are the E&G's and fit great, look great and easy to install. They are very strong, also. I try to not use them as steps, to keep the rubber tread looking good, but after I put them on, I stood on them to see how sturdy they were and they didn't bow at all.

I had an artist do a Rat Rod rendition of my '01 Silver PT. It has the E&G Classic sunvisor, running boards, and Retro HotRod grill, and the Scottsdale dual exhaust to name just a few mods.
