Running Boards 7 Years, 3 Months ago
I'm after some advice etc on Running boards...

I think I'd like to get some running boards - the 'real' Gangster style if possible - but I'd like to see them before I buy to see if they are what I want and/or are suitible or not... I was worried that they stick out a bit?

I've seen a couple of different styles on websites, but it's difficult to tell by a photo... what do people have? Does anyone have running boards? as I havent seen any on Sydney PT's yet.

Thanks in advance for your help,
Dean

The one that has the closest thing to running boards would be Pete Kroooozer.

go to allans site www.cruisinon.ws log in to the members section with crossfire326 and there is some photos there of a Black Perth PT with running boards. We had a guy check out the transport rules too. so if you need some info send but may not be useful in NSW. mail me if you want it.

Yeah... that's my worry that they stick out a bit and I'd take them off on a kurb or post or something...???

Might have to be the first in Sydney then? haha

Unless of course they are easily taken on and off with a few bolts??? I could put it on for cruises and shows and special events and off for everyday running around??
(the pain of it being my everyday car)

I am not sure how they fix on. But wing nuts are handy things for items that are not permanent.

I was told by a friend at work that she saw a PT with running boards - somewhere between Windsor and Blacktown heading east.....

So, I'm not sure if it was true running boards or something else that might have been custom or side-skirts!???

Anyone seen or know anything about this!?!?

I'm still keen for running boards .... anyone going to Tassie got them so I can take a look-see !? hehe

Allan has fitted running boards to our friends Bernie & Art's shale green cruiser. They are very securely bolted on underneath. They don't stick out any further than your mirrors & that is the law in WA.

We have a policeman in our club over here who finds out all the legalities for us.

We have both brands E & G & Aerotec ones in stock right now!!

Bernie & Art have gone with the running boards, conty kit & sunvisor theme. Their car is beautiful & won two trophies this year at the Chrysler Day.

I made my own running boards. Not exactly an easy first fibreglassing experience! Took me days of sanding and filling to get the top flat! Mine are quite narrow and follow the shape of the side spears. Saved me a packet too!! Made them to clip in to chassis rails then two bolts is all it took. About 1/2 hour to fit each side.

Dean, the photos of both sorts of running boards are on our website.

Bernie & Arts car is under the photos of western australia.

Then go to running boards on the left hand side of the website. Their car is featured again without them standing in front of it.

Give us a call & allan will walk you through the ease of fitting them as he fitted Bernie & Arts, or email us & we'll phone you back

Cheers, Debs
