I know with Shannons insurance there's a specific clause stating that just because they insure it, doesn't mean its legal. They specifically point out that its the owner's responsibility to make sure its legal.

In other words, they'll only look at it in more detail in the event of a claim.

Enough to make anyone nervous

I'm not saying because it's insured it's legal, just that they dont necessarily look into every claim. If you make heaps then they probably will. You sure that 18's are legal?

mate just because you can buy thing isn't an excuse to the RTA. you may even find some issues with your replacement headlight globes. Alotof these thigs say not for street use.

Truthfully - it's a never ending list and liek I said before we are probably just lucky that the cops dont really pick on teh PT's too much

i got these set of Tail lights,,, I've had them on for about a year now,, been followed by the police,,, even pulled over for speeding(my bad) .. yet they never mentioned that or expressed there regards of the non amber light,,(maybe coz they were trippin out on my TRUCK NUTZ,,, or the other lil decals on my rear end. Eg Smashed baseball in glass) my rear indicators flash red.. looked for alternatives to change the colour,, but no avail..

kr33p3r - yeah I've got similar to you for about 3 years withthe same outcomes, but I'd hate to get stuck in an RTA biltz or something. Always hold onto those originals in case of emergency and inspection. LOL

I have got to say that I am amazed that the PT comes stock standard with a RED/ Pink reverse light- and only one. Having a RED car-I have had problems with reversing out of a car park - nobody is coming - reverse out and then somebody comes along half way throught your reverse- they dont see the reverse light - because it melds into the red bumper- almost had a few altercations- thinking about changing it to a clear lens for saftey purposes.

PS I do do a lot of reverse parking on the Coast. Every where you go - angle parking!!!!!!!!

Yeah I agree... not overly happy with the 'red/pink' reverse light... (even on black) ... supposedly to match the red rear fog/driving on the RHS... plus the fact that there's only one and on the left when typically we'd need it on the RHS of the car is AUS??? I liked the ones a couple of the guys had I saw on Sunday - the clear light on both sides... I believe they came from the US
Who really needs that rear fog/driving in Aus anyway!?

I think that's the main problem for us it's just on the wrong side.

First let me say, I would of said 12 montsh ago when would you use that rear fog light, but I know weve had too ona few occassions now on trip sthrough the mountains and it really does make a difference when you are following someone, you couldn't see the tailights but you could see the foggie.

Now you have a coupleof options:
1. Buy the clear ones at CruisinOn ( you can then wire both to be reverse lights)
2. Buy another factory reverse light swap it with the foggie and link the wiring up for both.
3. I seen one of our syney members do this. He has hooked up these small driving lights under the rear bumper which you turn on witha switch when you reverse. Work great.
4. Get a whole new PTeazer rear bumper and put 150W globes in them revers lights like Kroooozer did LOL.
