Range of tailights 7 Years, 6 Months ago
I was looking through Ebay recently and surprised at the continuous changes of tail lights available. Not that I like them all but have posted a few here. The bottom one interests me as it retains yellow lens for blinker.

WOW!

So many... and then of course add on top of this all the different covers that you can put over just the standard lenses.

Amazing.

They are about US$135 plus US$25 for US shipping (I think thats a bit high) and US$35 for international (you would have to check if includes Australia as it only mentions Canada). There are a few people selling them, go to Ebay and do a search "pt cruiser tail" and there will be about 40 sets.

just be wary guys, just from someone who's gone through 4 pairs. The fog the fog. Most of them you can get with the Amber turn signal but for some reason they always seem to cost more. Those prices are about right. I think mine where a little more originally. Martin has the ones with the clear turn signal on teh side but it has an amber glow

neither have I and I've had them for over 2 years now in one form or another. I actually had a cop mention the flame stickers on my bumper reflectors but nothing about the blinkers. It still does worry me sometimes that someone might not see them and run up the back

Red indicators are the one thing that confused the crap out of us from start to finish on our US trip. NEVER got used to them!!!

I don't understand why when you know its wrong to still go ahead and use them!
If you got pulled over the cops or the RTA will use that as a starting point and have to complete the inspection by going over the rest of your car. That could be embarassing or inconvenient pending when it happens!
I'm actually surprised you can get a pink slip for rego in NSW.
If you got hit the insurance company would wipe you even if its not your fault. They will look for any way out of the claim these days.
BEST OF LUCK!

each to their own White Cruisin, luckily for us they aren't to hard on PT's hey. But be wary when you read into the in outs outs of the rules and ADR's technically you can not change anything on the car from standard without engineering approval. Most of the PT's you will see that are lowered would be breaking the rules, same goes for headlight covers/trims, talights covers/trims, neon lights, using your driving/fog lights, tinted windows, even mag wheels and tyres. Even if you got the amber lens tailights technically they are supposed to be ADR approved.

I Still have my standards so if I get pulled over for them, I'll turn up for my inspection with my new ones in.

Anyway I'll take the risk and cop it if I get caught out.

Yeah thats so true Craig. I actually do rego inspections my self and some things you have to turn a blind eye cause you know their not really a safety issue more of a clerical miss interpretation.
A lot of items when you purchase them say on their packaging (in very small writing i must add) check with your state laws!
I dont mind seeing modifications myself as long as if its not overboard ah!
Keep going guys, I love your PTs

Re: Range of tailights 7 Years, 6 Months ago
I have to admit Ray, the insurance angle is probably the most important in my opinion.

A defect notice from the authorities can be addressed, but in the event of an accident, an insurance company will try many different ways of not paying.

Unless an insurance company is a not-for-profit organisation, then let's face it, they're in the business of not paying your claim

Oh forgot to add haven't had to have a rego inspection yet, next year.

As for insurance yeah they could get you, but truthfully they have looked at my car and not said a word. You'll proabbly fing with teh PT they dont really knwo whats stock and what's not. Unless they turn the blinkers on they really wouldn't notice. I'll admit when I had my accident in the PT I was worried about all tehmods I had that they didn't know about, but they really suprised me and started replacing all my extra parts????????? Amazing hey, sometime these insurance companies suprise us. Sometimes....................
