TOPIC: Headlight globe replacement??
#58469
Changing a headlight globe 1 Year, 3 Months ago
Thanks everyone for the info on changing a headlight globe...it was invaluable.

It looked to me that I was going to have to pull out the wireless, dismantle the carbie & remove the brake drums just to get to the blown globe.

Anyway after I read all the stuff on the forum I wisely took the PT to my local mechanic.

He had a H7 in stock and after less than 5 minutes the job was done and my wallet was $12-50 lighter.....how good was that ??

There is so much info on the forum for people like me...

Thanks again

Probably because you can't see them in the dark and they burn more power to see where they are going hence the globes burning out.

Had mine blow two weeks ago and should have checked here first.

All my research said globe was a HB4. Repco also list the light as that as well. Once I was able to convince them that although they may have a listing for a Hatch and a Station Wagon they are the same thing.

After driving a round with the new globe in my consol for a week and a half I finally got under there and ripped the cover off to find a H7 globe. Grrrrrr

Anyway managed to get a set of the white/blue globes and did both at once and got my money back on the other one.

Funny thing is a globe whent on David's Pug a few weeks ago and then the other side two weeks later. His are H3 but after looking at the books he was sold a H7.

Stupid Europeans refer to high beam as main beam and low beam as dip beam. Bloody Frogs
