Chrome grille overlays 7 Years, 5 Months ago
Has anyone had experience with the chrome grille overlays that can be applied with 3m tape? I saw a PT in a yard recently and the chrome looked good. I know there are complete replacement grilles available but they are beyond what I want to pay - so is the "stick-on" one ok in terms of applicataion, durability etc etc?

you probably really want to check the prices out. As far as I'm aware the overlats are stil quite expensive. Maybe for $100-$150 more you might be able to get an aluminium one? Ebays a good place to look.

why not take the existing grille out and have IT chromed, wouldn't that be more cost efficient?
Or is it yet another case of I don't know what I'm talking about...

A guy up here did that a few years back. He could only chrome the top section (cos the bottom section is attached to the fascia) and when you looked closely, you could see the copper base coat at the back of the grille - the chrome didn't take everywhere.
