car care product, smell like coconut! 5 Years, 7 Months ago
|
|
During a recent visit at autobarn, I discovered a quick detailing product called Field Glaze, made by Zymol. It smells soo good! like a yummy coconut perfume!
But I still have nearly a full bottle of Meguiars quick detailer, so i didn't buy it.
I keep thinking about that smell, i think i had a dream about the car smelling like coconut last night.
Does anyone know anything about products from this brand? they seems very expensive, the starter kit cost $350 from autobarn

I have a coconut-smelling bottle of their polish in the shed somewhere. It's pretty good ... from my memories of using it a couple of years ago. Took quite a bit of buffing off ... but maybe I put on too much.
You'll also get recommendations for Swissol ... which is fantastic, especially on a dark car. The old Gangster (Patriot Blue) came up like new when I did the full treatment. But you pay for it!!!

I have never tried the Zymol products but they have a great reputation.
I'm no good with links. Try a Google search.
They have a full range of products and some waxes that are used on concourse cars for the top US circuits that costs thousands of dollars for a tub (Not a very large tub either).
Regards.

Yeah, I found their website. they didn't even mention the coconut smell on the product descriptions, I wonder what their other products smell like.
I need to get some new stuff, the Meguiars stuff are giving a blue tint to my silver car. :confused4:
GangsterPT, do you think the swissol product will be suitable for my sliver pt? There are so many things on the market, i'm getting confused.

It's good for any car, just looks more impressive on dark colours I reckon. Again, as Graham suggested, do some Google searching.
Here's a link to the Australian website...

Rainman,
Have you had a sniff of the Meguiar's tyre protectant gel? A bit like grapes?
Gliptone leather conditioner smells OK too.
Interesting that you feel the Meguiar's is bringing a blue tint to the silver paint. Since I have been using the Meguiar's NXT detailer and wax I have noticed the "blue" stands out more, especially away from direct sunlight. I have been happy with that. I thought it was bringing out the true colour of the car.
Kind regards.

Bluefire, I'm pretty sure its the meguiars that produced the blue tint. I was using the whole NXT line, every time after I use these products, the car becomes a shimmering light blue. It still looks good, but just plain weired.
I'm planning to go to a care product store later today and sniff everyproduct. Grape sounds good too.

Rainman,
It might be time to give up the sniffing.
If that shimmering light blue light turns white.......well. Opt for the "coming back" rather than the "crossing over".
Kind regards.

Rainman
Had a look at the Zymol range at Autobarn today. Reads well and the wax that comes in the starter pack smells pretty good.
I am keen to find something for the napa leathe seats in the Crossfire. Have just been using a clean damp chamois.
I use Gliptone on the leather (different from the soft napa) in the Citroen. I bought some other stuff recently. It is made on the Gold Coast and comprises bees wax, jojoba oil and vegetable oil. Haven't used it on the car seats but feels good rubbed on hands and smells like honey. Have used it on boots and it absorbs quickly and waterproofs.
Regards.
