TOPIC: Bumpers...

Re: Bumpers... 5 Years, 11 Months ago
we had ours done by Leo Muller and our car was well out of warranty. Just pestered them a little saying that other PT cruisers had had them fixed. They were very nice and took just over half a day to do. Be persistent and let them know the other dealers rectified the problem. Good luck

Hi I also had trouble with the tape marks and rang Melbourne about them. The first person I spoke to stated 'the first thing we would like to do is replace the bumpers' no questions asked and no i was not the original buyer. NOw the fun started they replaced bumpers front ok back also had tape marks so they ordered new rear one it was not australian type (smaller number plate holder) another one ordered also had tape marks so I got them painted but not color coded just in same color as original. No cost to me and they were happy to do it.

Gemibabe I flicked throught the posts quickly, if U have not yet had the bumpers sprayed, have the holes fixed completely on the bumper and attach your number plate to the bottom of the grill under the bumper with plastic ties then your front bumper will be perfectly smooth as the ALCHEMIST from Coffs Harbour will confirm, regards

Cable ties are the best thing ever invented for that smooth front end. You will need to have slim line plates though as full size tend to be a bit low.

Just be careful 'ordering' plates that they dont become 'personalised' and encurr annual fees!!

I have personalised plates - but got them years before they started all these charges... so I'm ok as long as I dont put them in for holding and get them back out again as that re-activates them under the new rules.

We've got 3 sets but only 1 set on a car at the moment. If it looks like the revenue ruling coming in up here we'll get kiddo a set beforehand and get rid of the mint 01 COP ones. Be buggered paying yearly for them. I'd rather pay a one-off and own them.

Re: Bumpers... 5 Years, 10 Months ago
Had mine for years to and could have trasferred them to the PT and not paid any extra but they were not slim line so had to have them remade. Now have to pay an extra $70 a year. Not too bad though. If I didn't already own them it would be $160 a year extra.

This has stopped me getting personalised plates on the Regal. It's a shame too because the perfect plate is available (SE 1977).

$70 isnt too bad I guess (I didnt know how much it was) but if you think of all the people out there with them - the RTA are raking in the cash!!!

Should have got the plates for the Regal before they started all this crap!!
