Turbo 4 Years, 4 Months ago

Hello,
I am new to this forum.
I have just had turbo added to my PT by Injection Perfection in Bankstown NSW.
I was very nervous about the whole thing because it involved sending my PT through a transport company from Vic to NSW. I got it back exactly 2 weeks after I dropped it off with no problems.
I had tried the following modifications but still felt that my PT was underpowered:
- Powerchip
- Cold air intake
- Poweraid throttle body spacer
- Screamin Demon leads and coil
The turbo has made a massive difference. My PT now has excellent power.
I could not be happier with it.
Has anyone else had this done?
Regards Geoff

That make four of Mark's turbo's out there now & you would never know because no one sings his praises. Turbo's are fitted in away it is not even visible & looks so neat & tidy you would think it was standard.

Absolutely Keith.
Mark from Injection Perfection has done a great job on my car.
The turbo kicks in at about 2500 revs and gives a real kick of power. It has great pull up hills.
Mark has put in an intercooler and he told me that the turbo is ceramic coated. (but like you said I can barely see anything)
Driven normally, the fuel economy on my PT is about the same as before. It does take more if I kick it alot but still under 10 litres per 100klm.
I did alot of investigation before I had the turbo installed and worked out that Mark was the right person.
It was worth every cent to have the car transported to Sydney and back so that Mark could do the job, and for him to do it in just over 1 week was brilliant.

Hi, I am thinking of purchasing a PT, the main problem I keep hearing is the lack of power. Just wondering how much the turbo upgrade cost?

Nice clean install. What size turbo?
Hi Mean Green,
Good to see you here.
The turbo is a Garrett ball bearing and can go upto 280hp.
Is is currently set at 6psi but the car is going back to Injection Perfection in the next 2 weeks for an engine rebuild (forged pistons, heavy duty rods and clutch) and boost switch 6-12psi.

Rebuild is very wise.
The US turbo has better connecting rods, among other beefed up internals.

If you surf US PT forums, you'd have learned:
- Powerchip - modest increase
- Cold air intake - modest increase
- Poweraid throttle body spacer - ZERO
- Screamin Demon leads and coil - Worse than zero - higher failure rate than stock coils!
ENJOY your turbo!

Agree, I learnt the hard way through trial and error.
