So Battle Cruiser is blown!. Would like to hear more about that? What type? What is the red box on the bracket (I'm guessing computer module for the blower). The black box at the right rear?

Very interesting.

Hi,

Thanks for the response, the Supercharger is the Eaton, (A supercharger is connected directly to the crankshaft by a belt unlike a turbocharger which is driven by exhaust gases. An Eaton supercharger provides improved horsepower and torque, at lower engine rpm's, by pumping extra air into the engine in direct relationship to crankshaft speed. The positive connection yields instant response, in contrast to turbochargers, which must overcome inertia and spin up to speed as the flow of exhaust gas increases. The supercharger is a way to get around "turbo lag". The lubrication system also differs, in that, the supercharger is self-contained whereas the turbocharger requires engine oil. The Eaton supercharger system incorporates a specially designed bypass valve, which is actuated by a vacuum motor near the throttle body, and re-circulates the supercharger air flow when boost is not required, during typical driving conditions, the engine is under boost around 5% of the time, which means the remaining 95% of the time the engine is under vacuum, allowing for better fuel economy and a quieter ride )

The "Red Box" is the High output Coil, which had to be moved out of the way, the standard computer has been overridden by a PowerMod Computer Management System, which is fitted inside, I can connect my Laptop and change settings, High Flow Injectors and different Fuel pump is also fitted, a modified Exhaust system, (about to be replaced by the Bleam Twin System which we are now having manufactured in Australia)

The “Black Box” is just a container which has water to inject into the Manifold, to cool the engine a large capacity Aluminum radiator has been fitted.

Suspension is Koni Adjustable Shocks all round, Energy HyperFlex Rubbers, King Springs, Boyd Coddington Billet Wheel fitted with 234/45ZR17 Tyres

Regards
Allan

Loxy, thanks for the detailed information.

It seems that our cars have a couple of things in common. Both silver (except yours has some nice artwork) and as far as I know we are the only ones to have real wings on the back. Also now that you mention your wheels they seem to look similar. Hard to tell from your small avtar picture. Mine are billet wheels but not Boyd Coddington. If I could get hold of one of those superchargers might be another thing that they have in common. Love the idea of being able to plug in the laptop.

I will be up that way after Easter (hoping to catch some drags at Willowbank on April 18 or 19 - weather permitting). Wouldn't mind dropping in to get a closer look if that's okay.

It certainly is nice to look under that bonnet and also around the PT. Had a geeza myself when we were up there in March before COTM 09.
Had to see Loxy about something and also my brother in law was very intrigued in what he saw. Recommend it's worth looking at Wayne.

Dot it's not that far off topic, it still under the hood and it's in the Engine topic.
