TOPIC: Wedding Ribbons
#61096
Re:Wedding Ribbons 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I'm sorry if you think the novice tried to re-write the wedding car rules... I was after some advice, from those that have been doing this on a regular basis.
I was just repeating myself as to what was happening and was asked because of the nature of the bride not wearing white or similar...

All advice taken on board, and with a quick consult with the bride, a good result has been decided, and have also come up with a few other little touches thanks to a family friend's talents, which I hear look great and should do nicely on the rear parcel shelf (I 'may' even put some on the front dash?)...

Thanks to Ray for taking the time to drop off some things to help me out, and make a couple of suggestions, I do appreciate it greatly.

Oh my goodness!! Can't believe I said that - above post edited
I sincerely apologise for my offensive behaviour - I was tired and stressed when I got home from work last night
Sometimes typed words read totally different from their original intensions, and I'm sorry I misread their original intensions, it's been a stressful week at work but that's no excuse.
(must have been the 'gangster' coming out lol )

Thank you to everyone's comments and advice, as I said above, all advice taken on board and I think we've got a nice result to work on...

Thanks to Rob and Ray for the comments, I value your experienced advice

Back to it - gotta get this car ready for this afternoon...

Will take lotsa pics (not just of the car )

Well.... the wedding was a rip-roaring success...

It was only a low-key wedding ... I actually had the full wedding party in my car - bride / groom / bridesmaid / best man ... Just a small ceremony at the celebrant's house with the immediate family and few friends, then the reception with about 50-60 people...

I was actually surprised at how much attention the car got... It almost became the centre of things for the ceremony etc - they were just absolutely wrapped in the PT and how it looked with the ribbons, and also the rear shelf - which I opened up when we got to the celebrant's house for the ceremony...

Here's a few pics:

The car all done and ready...

Bride and Groom teddy in the back...

Ready to head off...

Bride and Bridesmaid

All photos from the wedding here: http://www.deano.net/gallery/080809

A big thanks to everyone who offered their advice / suggestions and comments, in particular to wedding guru's Ray, and Rob and Lyn

The day was a great success for the bride and groom, and they were so grateful for the use of my PT for the day.

Thanks Keith, yeah come up looking great... As it was only a small wedding, the car was kinda central to the afternoon so glad I added a few extra touches like changing the wheels for the moon's etc

Yeah was a perfect day all round and the weather came around after the storm that rolled over the night before... PT was safely under cover while I took my friend's car to work haha

Thanks again Ray for the stuff for the parcel shelf, it was a hit! They all loved the bears... I'll stealth them back to you soon!

Well done Dean.
Glad the car was a hit and so it should be.
Good to see everyone happy to. You look different to what i saw the other day!

Just send me a text when your ready to handover the bits n pieces and I can call past if you like.
Unless you have booked another job. Sometimes you get a wedding job form the last wedding.

I only just sold four last week for $255 I can also get them fitted and balanced at no extra cost. Now this is a limited offer as I can't get them all the time But if your after some let me know and if your in no real hurry I would say upto 2 weeks if not less.

Dean the way you turned that pt out was perfect . we also use the bears in ours. With those moons on you would be a triplet of ours . the ribbons worked well . We were very impressed with that fella in the suit,do know who he was

Hey Rob and Lyn,
Thanks, yeah could be a triplet - except for the lack of chrome elsewhere... But if you ever need a third black with moon's, let me know...

Thanks for the offer Col, bit short on cash for the moment - and I'm on pretty full rubber again now - was thinking something a little different for the 15's - oops! gave it away now...

I had the moons on mine as well but every time I got a service they never put them on properly. I usually always check them but occaisionally I have forgotten and last time one fell off. Its not the first time ones fallen off and I usually hear it and have no trouble finding it but the last time I didn't hear it so I'm one short and decided to try something different and went for chrome dress rims. Plus smaller length chrome nuts I just need to get some centre caps now and maybe some white walls

Re:Wedding Ribbons 2 Years, 6 Months ago
I haven't been able to keep the moon's on for long periods of time - some reason they twist on the wheel - that's how I lost one on the Great Ocean Road trip - both on the left were 'moving'/twisting and I think the valve must have kicked it off - possibly the grips aren't as strong as they were originally (I got the wheels and moons second hand) I now have a full new set of moons (from Cruisin on) so will see how I go once I get those tyres sorted at some stage...
(I found the one was twisting again after the wedding - same rim as the one that kicked on GORC)

I found if you bent the tabs slightly out so they were hard to press on they would stay on better.
My left front was the main one which came off the most(and twisted) but the rear left came of twice aswell.
And the last time, the rear left one fell off I still haven't found it.
I even went as far as buying another set of stock wheels which seemed to work.
Until the last service
