TOPIC: Hood ornaments

Hood ornaments 5 years 4 months ago #77763

This might be a silly question but are there hood ornaments for PTs? It is the only modern car I can think of (aside from Rolls Royce wedding cars) that have the kind of raised hood ( yes I know the Aussie word is \'bonnet\' but PTs are American) that might sport such an ornament. I went to the Sydney Fair last weekend and saw a few art deco car ornaments that belonged to 1930s era motor vehicles and wondered if such things were made for modern cars.

I haven\'t seen this one for awhile
But it has a \"hood\" ornament
I\'m pretty sure that one of the aftermarket suppliers (Bleam) may have them
You don\'t see them much anymore as they are considered a pedestrian hazard
Ones that can move similar to Mercedes would be somewhat safer but not sure on fitment to PT\'s or legalities

The one above looks a bit odd...a bit too angular for rounded shapes of the car. I\'m not sure I actually wanted one, just curious as to whether they existed. I figured that kind of ornamentation fell out of favour when bonnets changed to a flatter profile.
