TOPIC: Series 1 gets a makeover

Series 1 gets a makeover 7 years 6 months ago #71710

Has anyone else done this?

I\'ve replaced the headlights/bumpers/grille on my Series 1? (MY2002) Coupe with Series 2? (MY2006) bits to give an old girl a new look!

It was pretty straight forward with the only mismatch being a small gap where the inner guard didn\'t quite meet the new bumper but I made a small infill to bridge the gap.

I\'m quite pleased with the result!

Hi Phil.
Well done there mate. I wouldnt\'ve thought it could be done having different shaped bumpers front & rear but it looks great.
Good to know incase down the track we cant get the old bumpers.
Well done.

You repaint the car, or fit colored bumpers?

I purchased the car as a repairable write off with front end damage. I figured if I was going to replace the front end I\'d update it at the same time. The bumpers were originally black with inferno surround. I had to respray the bonnet but lucked out in getting bumpers/grille the right colour. If I\'d have replaced the inner guards as well I wouldn\'t have needed the infill panels. This is the 3rd \"written off\" PT I have resurrected.
