Looking for info from the group. The manual says ATF+4 is used in the manual gearbox. Is this right. What are others using, ATF+4 os something different. Over to the enlightened ones.

Hi Big Al most people most proberly don't know what oil as there cars are done at dealers or else where. No need to now.Best bet just ask dealer what oil is used.I too thought someone would have commented on this before this for you.Sometimes these things slip between the grooves.Hope this helps if it's not to late.

I did read this, along with atleast 40 others and pretty much thought as you did wild child.
No one likes to say they don't know
You wanted an answer and obviously no one knows
Who changes there manual gearbox oil or knows the oil to change it
I work for a dealer and I don't know
Most of us(all of us actually) are only too willing to help,
If we can

Here's the page from the E - manual... it says use ATF+4...that's what I would use.

It would seem the manual seems pretty clear on this so this is what I would go with. Any further doubt give Sam at Mopar Motors a call. Refer link or look up Mopar Motors on the web.

All Forum readers,
Sory about the rant last night, bad day at work. Thanks to those that sent PM. Why i asked the question was that now that the PT is out of warranty i do all of the servicing muself. Have a factory workshop manual.
I was confused as the book says ATF+4, but all of the oil makers lube sheets say some form of "manual gearbox oil/gear oil of varing weights/various types of ATF etc. All very confusing.
I ended up using Nuylon full syn ATF that says is a replacement for ATF+4. All seems to be going well.
Last month took the child bride down to brisbane. Car went very well, didn't miss a beat. Got some very goob fuel milage on the way down 6-7 lts/100k. On the way back it got even better drove Bris - Rock on tank of gas. Left Rock thinking would refuel again in Mackay, wrong still half a tank so on to Bowen, still lots left so on to AYR. Was just on 1/4 full so filled up although could proberly have made Townsville. Comsumson worked out to 5.5 lts/100 km sitting on 100/110kph.
