Coolant - Which One - Red,Green or Yellow ? 1 Year, 7 Months ago
I am about to flush the radiator coolant.

I have searched high and low, and have not found conclusively what coolant to refill with.

Besides the Mopar HOAT MS-9769 coolant, what are owners using in their PT's ?

Most of the PTs I have seen use the red coolant .Thats what I have always used with no problem. You have to be careful when refilling make sure that you dont get any air in the system.Hope that helps.

Also be careful with the red if it says Longlife as some mechanics tend to believe that's exactly what it says and just keep adding to it instead of flushing it out regularly.

I actually had the radiator replaced in my 02 because of this when it ate the radiator core out from the inside of the core out. Found out it wasn't flushed regularly and hence cost me quiet a bit of money to replace the radiator. ( Have since changed mechanics and started a regular program with flushing both PT's annually. )

Natrad recommend the green coolant and flush regularly probably at the start of summer each year. For the cost of doing it, it will save you a substanial amount of money in the long run.

another of those personal choices
Mechanics where I am of course use the genuine red type
I prefer the green myself although I'm yet to use it in the PT
But thats not too far away

Doesn't matter which colour if you're flushing. Just don't mix them or they can go to glug. I went with green as a cheapernalternative to the pink.

Green, Red & Yellow whatever. The colour is only used to identify their product not to promote one is better than the other so obviousley as as said before dont mix them which means you will need to open your heater to flush it out as well.
Obviously stick with a quality brand and stick with the Service Schedule
"Long Life!" there is such a thing......providing it stays in the bottle unopened. I know NATRAD and a couple of the petroluem manufactured Coolants (Shell & Caltex) will warrant the engine if the coolant fails the engine.

That's correct Ray with Natrad especially, they will take you on in a 3 year warranty timeframe to replace or repair if their product etc fails within that time but you must also stick with there recommended flush program to keep the warranty active. I have 2 programs going at the moment. I would prefer to pay the extra couple of $'s each year and not have to worry about anything, let them worry about it.
