Alfa Romeo = Fiat (and Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati and probably a squillion other brands) Maserati is now under the control of Alfa Romeo after being passed on to them from Ferrari. (Ferrari racing is a separate company and only indirectly related to the road cars).

Alfa Romeo through the GM link is supplied with V6 engines manufactured by Holden. (same as the new Commodore motor)

Before my first PT, I saw a good deal on a late Mercedes, but I ended deciding against it, because I didn't want people to think I was "putting on airs".

Greg,
Next time you speak with a Crossfire owner, that is if you ever speak with one again, ask how he/she believes the vehicle aligns more with MB.
No doubt you will get the MB underpinings and assembled by Karmann in Osterbroek.
Point out the vehicle is in fact recognised by the Australian registration authorities as being from North America and the USA in particular.
They should associate accordinly?? Proven by checking the VIN.
First letter/ number is Region 1 = North America.
First & second letter/number Country 1C = USA.
Second & third letter/number Manufacturer C3 = Chrysler/Plymouth

Kind regards,
Bluefire.

PS Anybody wishing to decode VIN can try www. analogx. com. then VIN View.

PPS Don't leave site with your VIN on the search. Input 6H8VRK19HSL768159.
It is a VIN for a 1994/1995 Holden Commodore.
H = 3.8 litre Fuel Injection Petrol.
L = Adelaide plant.
These will not be on the decode site.

I am so happy to have Blue fire as a member of our club - Graeme and Marilyn have become part of the cruising family - lets face it those wings only belong to one badge - Chrysler. They stick out a mile , i dont remember seeing round badge with a 3 point prong hanging off any of the body work.

They are after all "Angel" wings.

Aren't there a couple of Crossfire's with the PTCDU NSW Inc. contingent and wasn't there a Crossfire on the North Queensland cruise recently?

BTW, I bought mine as a Chrysler, the bonus was it was M-B under the skin and I also like M-B.
I have a long association with Chryslers (not Mitsubishi) from 1968 to 1985, and now renewed.
The Crossfire, although classified by Australian Registration Authorities as being from North America - USA (see VIN), is more German than most of the M-B models that are imported and sold in Australia.
The Crossfire is not assembled in Austria but by Karmann (remember the VW Karmann Ghia and the genuine VW Beetle Karmann convertible) in Osnabruck, Germany.

If anyone is looking for a car with investment potential try getting hold of a 2003 Crossfire Roadster. Almost certainly none in Australia. There were 19 built.

Kind regards,
Bluefire.

Has anyone spotted or tagged a Crossfire owned by a past Queensland Political figure of high ranking?
