Melbourne Motor show 5 Years, 11 Months ago
I thought maybe the country members that don't get a chance to see the MOTOR show & are interested to get a bit of a read and look ... my camera the battery failed .. not holdin charge (getting a new one) so hubby has more ... but to start Chrysler had a GREAT new stand this year .. looked fabulous .. they were handing out DODGE bags that we spotted even in the carpark BEFORE we got in .... EVERY one had one !! ... also BEFORE we got into show we could NOT help but notice the COMMONWeath games cars (100s of them ) parked as far as the eye could see in teh old BAy 21 section of the docklands ... no idea that SO many would be required with our WONDERFUL public transport system in MElb .. one thing I am going no where near MELB when games are on .. except of course JUST going through for COTM !!! I will post more when Hubby downloads his chip ... yeap this is also testin my photo bucket skills so be COOL till I get confident !!! also why I am in off topic !!! in case it goes WRONG !!!

Thanks for the pics Dot. Will be interesting to see the Calibre - mother and daddy are spending my inheritance on a new car this motor show.

I saved the write up from Cars Guide on Friday, they were saying it would come out standard with 2.0l with a possibility of a 2.4l with 120kw or something (don’t know why we cant get that in a PT?) and then also a possible 1.6 diesel or something.

It make sense to bring out the 2.0l otherwise it would be too close to the PT and could canabilise sales instead of taking them of ford (Focus), Toyota (Corolla), Mazda (3) and Holden (Astra).

It should under cut the Euros though

Chrysler website says initially it will come in the 1.8l and 2.0l petrol with the 2.4l petrol and 2.0 CRD to follow later. No news on the AWD 2.4l Turbo but I wouldn't hold my breath. Not even MB brings their 4Matic sedans here. It'll be a real shame.

On yet another note, apparently the dealers are expecting the 300C Touring (wagon) next month. Can't wait to see them. Craig if they're expecting them next month maybe you can arrange with DC to get a sneak look like you did with the SRT Crossfire?? They should be here somewhere.

Re: Melbourne Motor show 5 Years, 11 Months ago
Yeah I know. But I think I like the inside of the 300C better than the Magnum and I like the outside of the Magnum better so I think it's a good compromise. I possibly would like the Magnum front on it tho but we'll have to see what it looks like in real.
