Bob that pic has always looked squashed even on the old forum. Will try a resize and see if it changes it.

WP I believe this has been coming for a while. I'm like you also in regards to age but a change is as good as a holiday, like a breath of fresh air, so to speak.

Geez this is all so new......and so different.
My opinion is the page is a bit to narrow. When answering a PM your own writing is barely readible.
Change is good though and something we needed.
What is topic icons suppose to mean?
What happened to the "Announcement" posts and the "Sticky's" posts. Is there no priority posts any more?
Shane tell us about this Karma bit, what's the bar graph mean, hitting the brakes etc red and green lights flashing here and there.

You had to ask? I thought that everyone knew the reason for everything these days is the Global Financial Crisis.

I see you could bring over the side bar, I do like that feature.
Other than the cosmetic differences, it still pretty much the same. Layout and order will take time for some. But looks like most other forums.
One thing that does bother me and thats the Karma or any ranking for that matter. Yes Ray it does get abused also some with high ratings tend to feel superior.
It can tend to stop people posting for fear of recieving bad credits/ratings.
Some may say this is a good thing but it does end up effecting everyone.
alot of the longtime forums have disabled this feature But some of the newer ones still use it.

One Chrysler forum I frequent had this feature and it became a competion to see who could get the most negatives. By using multiple sign ins. As we know some here have such accounts.
one way to stop it being abused is if everyone could veiw who gave what to who and how often.

The old forum site was unique from other forums. If you have never been on other forums they all have the same lay out as this one and design. Which in my opinion is completley different to the old forum site.

Simple terms when you walk into a car park all you see are cars


unless


theres one PT in the car park you will spot it straight away. Right.

But its more to do with content I supose, you can change the Color of the paint but its still a PT underneath.

Is there some way of changing how many posts appear per page

At the moment I'm getting 3 per page
Threads like Port Macquarie are now 19 pages long
I've checked but can't find it anywhere

Great job on the new look, I really like it. Only minor grumble is same as i2s2bme with the posts per page. Other than that, Well Done.

I was just going throught the other states and noticed Qld Has whats called "spotlights" Looks like the old sticky's

It was set to 6, but I've just changed it to 15. That should suit better.

Moderators can still make threads sticky, but I think it had got a bit crowded at the top in the old forum, so that wasn't transferred.

Shane you just earned an extra karma because of the extra posts per page

Now I'm dinking taking one off now, on the sticky's and announcements.....lol
We may need to get together on that one Shane. We (NSW) do release it's sticky's each month, what ever was on for May stayed until the end of May, Birthdays included. But the "announcements" did remain as they contained club info for new or prospective members etc.
Never mind I'm sure we could work it someway.

Private mesages from the old forum have been imported.

There may be some duplicates and a few odd things being displayed when you read them due to some compatibility issues, but you'll hopefully have all of your old PMs now.
