TOPIC: What a day for a cruise

What a day for a cruise 2 Years, 9 Months ago
So what do you do when you have planned a cruise day & you wake up in the morning & it is cold, windy & wet??? ring up your fellow committee members & decide to meet at the official start point (which just happens to be inside a warm cafe), do the meet & greet, go on a short cruise & then call it a day!! well that was the plan untill all the members present said the picnic was still on " We will not be put off by a bit of inclement weather"

So with stomachs full of breakfast & coffees we set off for a short tour of the adelaide hills before arriving at our apicnic destination, the Adelaide Botanical Gardens Park

With all the cars parked it was out the picnic equipment & warm water proof clothing & time for lunch & a chat.
We had set a challenge for the day to see who could dress up the best gazebo but due to the weather it was reduced to the best table & our members did not fail to impress with a large variety of candles, lanterns & table decorations

Rob ( Crash) & Helen were the stand out winners even bringing a rocking chair so Crash could do a bit of Whittling!!

What started off as a miserable day ended up being one of the more enjoyable social events we have had for a long time , as we know its not the Cars or the Place that make the Event but the People that attend & remember at the end of the day : No Politics, No Bickering, No Bulls--t just friends out & about having a good time......

Well said Steve and everyone enjoying themselves on such a miserable start to the day really sounds good.
Trust Rob ( Crash ) to to something like that. Seems to be a reasonably good attraction at any cruises he goes to. Does the unusual as we found out at Beechworth.

winter cruise 2 Years, 9 Months ago
This cruise brings to mind appox 12 months ago we all met for a sunday
afernoon drive to the mountains, the weather was bad but after a show
of hands off we went.
When we arrived the skies cleared we had a bbq as well but appart from
all things against us we had a great day mainly because of the people
we were with, that's what makes a good day out.

Sounds like a great day out with everyone enjoying themselves.Looks likes Crash is well suited to the rocking chair,at least he can't do to much damage sitting in it or can he
