The PTCDU (Qld) turned out in numbers to support the Logan PCYC Fun Day "Cars , Bikes , Rods and Rigs" car show and were rewarded by some wonderful trophies.
The REPORT for the day......
A windy, chilly early start under mostly sunny skies saw 15 PTs,1x 300C,1X Avenger and 'club mascot-Tonka' gathered at the Logan Central Tavern carpark for the 1KM drive to the back of the Logan Entertainment Centre for the Logan PCYC Cars,Bikes,Rods and Rigs car show/family day.
The organisers had set aside enough parking bays to accommodate the portashades and all the vehicles.
In the rush to park everyone in predetermined color order, there was a half a parking space overlap causing a slight reshuffle of a couple of the end vehicles-no real dramas though.
Displays and portashades were set up and a few non-show PT-ers got to decorating their cars-some with balloons filled with helium brought along by Lil Tub's Jacquii , and toys, tools and all sorts of dressing up bits and pieces.
What a fantastic turnout - PTs in a range of sparkling colors and styles,Cabrios aplenty, and a couple of other supporting Modern Mopars - a total of 18 in our display!
A huge crowd was present on the day and they mulled around our Club display for most of the day, admiring the high quality of our cars and photographing the murals and graphics as well as showing interest and appreciation in our efforts.
The time went pretty quickly with our group taking in the other vehicles on show, chatting amongst ourselves, getting food and drinks and enjoying a few laughs.
Marie (Peacock) dropped in to say hi and have a bit of a chat-nice to see her again.
Prez Crafty and Cruise Controller Scottie went on a hunt to find out about the presentations and caught up with PCYC Show organiser Michele who answered "they will start at 1-30 - what's the time now?" when told it was 1-30 already she said "thanks-glad you reminded me" - poor gal was looking a little flustered by this time.
The band finished playing and the presentations commenced.
Lil Tub's Granddaughter Paige helped out with the raffle drawing and was given a warm 'thank you' from the announcer-what a wonderful smile and curtsy!
One of the early prizes was awarded to Loxy in Battle Cruiser for Champion Custom Paint - then Merrilyn in C-Breeze chimed in with the Champion PT Cruiser trophy.(Congratulations were given to them by everyone).
Then the second last prize of the day for Best Club Display was announced "PTCDU (Qld) step up!!". This award is for everyone who turned up on the day - your support for your club won this prestigious trophy - we thank you one and all!
We followed the shows' completion with a Committee Meeting to discuss further shows and runs until the end of October.
Another fantastic day out with our friends and fellow PT-ers.
