NEW Forum Members! **** well, maybe not**** 2 Years, 10 Months ago

Hey all!
Just thought I'd touch base with everyone and say "Hi".
To explain: We're big PT fans (currently owning a 2008 Black Manual "Pacific Coast Highway" Street Cruiser) who went on our last run in .....wait for it - 2003!
All I want to say is, if you pass a Black PCHWY Cruiser, give us a wave (the PT salute?) because I've noticed an explosion of new PT owners, but no-one seems "friendly" anymore.
(Anyone remember the good ol' days when if you passed ANY old PT owner on the road they would smile and wave to you???)

I still wave. I wave even when I'm driving the Saab !!!! It's just a reaction when I see a PT.

I have the same problem especially when driving a work car. Makes it hard I even did it when I was walking the other day, not that the driver noticed.
Good to see you have finally joined our ever loving family Petey Pie, I hope that you have as much fun in your PT as I do in mine (and Steffi's when I can get a hold of it).

When we had our PT we always gave other PT's a wave, some waved back, some didn't and some didn't even know they'd just passed another PT. To some it's just a car to get from A to B, yeah....I hear ya, sad isn't it.
We're driving a Dodge Avenger now but we still wave to the PT's as we pass them. I often wonder what they must be thinking when we do. We also get to wave to other Avengers, that is on the very rare occassion we get to see one.
So Petey Pie, 2003 was your last run.....reckon your due to join the fun for another. PM me if you're interested and I'll let you know what's coming up in the next couple of months, that is, of course if you are in the South East of Queensland.
(Just had a look at your website and can see you are a couple of busy people, but the offer still stands, if you'd like to cruise sometime, I'd be happy to pass on any info)
Cheers

Thanks everyone for your sweet replies...
Storm (and everyone) I should explain, the reason we don't go on runs is simple.
We're professional Musicians/Entertainers and we are out of control busy (we have 17 gigs this month alone!) and our gigs are EVERY weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) and some mid week.
We're (I think) the only Entertainers in Brisbane (possible Queensland - maybe Australia!) who use a PT for our work - don't know why, they're the perfect "Showbiz Van".....
This is our second PT, our first was a 2001 Inferno Red Classic (anyone who has the first (....?) PT Club Calendar can see our original Petey Pie with Rose Smiling out of the window - October I think....
We keep hoping our gigs co-incide with Club runs (as in date and Venue) because we play a lot of Rock n Roll music - where appropriate - and all of our Rock n Roll dancers who follow us around would DIE if they saw 20 or 30 PTs lined up outside a Venue!
lol

Hey Petey Pie, I had a look on your website and you certainly have a few gigs happenin'. Actually the thought crossed my mind when I was looking at your March calender that maybe we could make one of our future runs to one of your shows. We would need to have reasonable advance notice of dates so as to give members enough notice of the upcoming cruise. I'll make the suggestion at our next committee meeting and see what the others have to say. Someone will e-mail you if the idea takes off.
Cheers Kym

Welcome to the forum Petey Pie - checked out your Chi - Chi Blog page - looks good.

Sounds like a great idea Kim, what more could anyone want - Rock n Roll music and 20 or 30 PTs lined up outside a Venue - the making of one fantastic event, wish we could be there. Hopefully we'll see the pics on the forum if it all works out.

**********UPDATE************
Well I've just been on the horn to the organisers of a Rock n Roll event affiliated with Wintersun.
(This event/Venue is usually on the Wintersun Website, but for this year, for reasons unknown was overlooked - but it's still going ahead all guns blazing)
So...
Date: Sunday JUNE 7th from 2-6pm
Address:
The Cooloongatta Senior Citizen's Centre, Gerrard St Cooloongatta.
We will be playing there for over 200 (possibly 300) Rock n Roll Dancers in this venue with a great Dancefloor, and there is (apparently) a Carpark, and additionally a Park (The trees n grass kind) where hopefully we will find a space for more than a few PT's......
(Be warned, we haven't been there before, and do not know HOW much room there will be in the Park for PT members as there are also usually many other Classic/Vintage cars parked there and in the surrounds, as those of you who have been to Wintersun well know)
It's shaping up to be one heck of an event though (as is Wintersun).
What do you all think?

Um...............ok.
Well I can understand why a lot of you didn't exactly get excited by our Wintersun event, looks like you all went down on Saturday (not the Sunday) anyway.
Hope y'all had a good time anyways!
See you all round sometime.............

Hi Petey Pie,
Friends & fellow members of the Wagga Wagga Rod & Custom Club went up for the event. Said it was absolutely fabulous - they go every years - could only go for a couple of days this time. Would love to go sometime.
They have an awesome little Hot Rod, you might remember seeing it there?
